I just got back from a trout fishing trip with some friends. Somehow Kerry came up, and I mentioned the fact that the War Remnants Museum in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City has a photograph of John Kerry honoring him as a NORTH Vietnam war hero, and that this made Mr. Kerry a traitor to his country.
A friend of a friend who was fishing with us WENT OUT OF HIS MIND. He said it was a lie, and the the Bushes were this and that and the other thing. I offered to give him my copy of "Unfit for Command" and he said there was nothing but lies in it, even though he has never seen it.
It was pretty incredible. There are some deeply disturbed Liberals out there right now, and like all people who wear "peace" on their sleeves like "the religion of peace," I fear violence when John Kerry suffers a humiliating defeat this November.
If it's not close, they can't cheat, but I am betting that soon you won't be able to tell the difference between a Liberal and an Islamofascist.
Sorry for the vanity, but this encounter really bothered me.
I have run into a few of those also, it is just what they want to believe, they cannot handle the truth.
my whole neighborhood, besides me of course, is this way.. Edwards lives (when hes around) two streets over from me.. he and the rest of these Liberals, are rude, hateful, unfriendly and snooty..
pU to'em all
How would you feel if you'd been in power for 60 years (FDR New Deal til 1994) and are now staring at being OUT of power for about 40-50 years (1994 til the dying of Gen-X) and your political party is facing oblivion like the Whig Party did in the 1840s?
What would be his reaction if you could prove Kerry's picture does in fact hang in North Vietnam? If he wouldn't care then I wouldn't waste my time.
You call them "Rabid Bush Haters" too?
I thought I coined that phrase.
Darn!
I have given up on trying to argue politics with stupid people whose mind you will never change. Hate Bush is all they know.
I understand how you feel. I have two relatives that I am avoiding as much as possible until after the election.
They are losing it. They are realizing that they put all their money on a dead horse.
So, how was the fishing? Hope you outfished him too. One more thing to drive him nuts.
This election has caused more animus than any I can recall. I lost a friend I have known since 1956 (third grade, if you're scoring) when he started acting like Michael Freaking Moore. It bothered me for a day or two. Now, it just feels like an old pal was sent off to the big gray building with the rubber rooms. Actually, that's not a bad idea.
I lost more than 1 friend over the mess in Florida last election. Forget about the loser and make new friends.
There must be a photo of Kerry's photo in that museum. .....somewhere.
Forget that whole lib rage thing. How was the fishing?
Ah, there it is!
I meant to post it with my rant but forgot. It on link 10 above.
There must be a medical term for those that hate Bush and Bush supporters ... hmmmm. Must check webmd.com.
None of my friends know my political views (except for one- my best friend who is also conservative). I think they sense it though from my behavior, ie- I have good manners and judgement, which are expressly republican qualities.
Point is, I refuse to argue about politics. I would quickly have no friends if I did.
I hope you enjoyed the fishing anyway. Fresh trout, yummmm.
You might want to think twice about posting such personal info. Remember how Buckhead was identified to the whole world from things he posted on this forum.
