NEW YORK - John Kerry has made big time arguments for expanding the "international support" in the War On Terror and particularly in Iraq. But according to reports yesterday, the French and the Germans are having none of it.
"'I cannot imagine that there will be any change in our decision not to send troops, whoever becomes president,' Gert Weisskirchen, member of parliament and foreign policy expert for Germany's ruling Social Democratic Party, said in an interview.'"...
...A French government official said: "People don't expect that much would change under a Kerry administration, even if things can only getbetter. We do not anticipate a sudden honeymoon in the event that Kerry replaces Bush. A lot depends on who is in power in both Washington and Baghdad. If there's change in both countries then it's possible we would re-examine our position, but I don't expect a massive change either way."

Those wacky French. You just never know who they will give the stiff one to next.
Jerry Lewis?

Translation: If one of Saddam's cronies gets in power and we can get all our sweetheart oil deals back then we will reconsider.
Oh Jeez!...John "Dangerfield" Kerry!...
Kerry said that if elected he will convene a conference of all European, and Arab nations to ask them to help with the Iraq war. Surely they will say this to Kerry:" Forget it. Don't ask us to deal with the war you forcefully denounce it as a wrong war"
Yeah, here's how ze French run their own affairs...stick it to the US, and maximize the amount of money that goes in their pocket, even if that means making deals with a murderous dictator. Screw everybody else - they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

The Germans desperately want Kerry to win...but the flip side of this which they haven't really understood...is that if Kerry wins...he must get other troops into Iraq to die instead of Americans. Hint: that means German and French troops. Once a German understands that...they simply step back, and ask for a beer, and start watching sports on TV. They simply won't volunteer German troops. And for Kerry...four years of no movement by the Germans and French, will kill any chance of a re-election. The people voting for Kerry expect the Germans to fall right into this deal...and they won't.
You have to wonder if Kerry has in any way contemplated the consequences of his pandering to the French and the Germans. For the last three years the Democrats have been acting like a bunch of hairy, sweaty, Belgian college students marching around holding up misspelled signs are "The World."
He has given legitimacy to people who are going to expect that legitimacy to continue if he is elected President. And they know they're going to get it. In short, Kerry's campaign has effectively established a world in which, were he to be elected President, a handful of countries would have us over a barrel. Does Kerry really think that, if he's elected, there will be room for any political disagreements with France?
His flip-flopping make work fine for the mindless democrats following him in this country. They didn't care when Clinton bombed the hell out of Yugoslavia and they won't care who Kerry bombs if he becomes President. As long as the bombs are THEIR bombs. But France, Germany, Russia will not see it the same way--all will have been taught a lesson by a Kerry election that they are our most important allies without whom we cannot act militarily.
