U.S. says catches militant cell head

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. forces have captured the leader of a suspected militant cell during a raid in the northern Iraqi town of Kirkuk, the U.S. military says.

A statement said U.S. troops captured Hussein Salman Mohammad al-Jabburi during a raid on Monday afternoon.

It said Jabburi was believed to have led a Kirkuk-based militant group with links to Ansar Al Sunna, another militant group which is itself believed to be linked to Ansar al Islam, a northern Iraqi Islamic militant network.

Washington says Ansar al Islam, whose mountain bases along the border with Iran were destroyed in the early stages of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, had connections with Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network.

It has also been associated with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Jordanian militant believed to be behind a string of suicide bombings and beheadings of hostages in Iraq.

The U.S. military said Jabburi was being held for questioning. No injuries were reported in the raid, it added.

I think Zarqawi is on the run or hurt,,because,,,he isn't offering money for hostages apparently, and there are plenty of hostages still there. He could behead 10 a day and it would take a few days to get through every one. Apparently he's either out of money or dead or incapacitated in some way. I think this is why 7 hostages were released today, their takers are in it for the money. Although there is a rumor that Italy paid a ransom, and it is just a rumor, not a fact, as far as I know.

However, I guess this great catch is just another example of how we are "losing" the war over there- right Comarde Kerry?

I'm still wondering what a "cell head" is. Is that different from a "mitochondria head?" And how does it compare to a "doody head?"

What's a militant cell head? The head T cell? OK, that was bad, but so are the verbal gymnastics used by Rooters to avoid calling a spade a spade.

I don't know, but "Militant Cell Head" would be a good name for a rock band.

18 cells = 1 glob
42 globs = 1 drip
14 drips = 1 spurt
87 spurts = 1 al Qaeda

So how important is this guy, exactly?

We should stop capturing these people and start shooting them "trying to escape"

Well, I guess if we're getting info from them we can keep them alive for as long as that takes...then a double tap.
