These are allegations bin Laden does not now deny. "It would be a sin for Muslims not to try to possess the weapons that would prevent the infidels from inflicting harm on Muslims, but how we could use these weapons if we possessed them is up to us.
With an American price on his head, there weren't many places bin Laden could go, unless he teamed up with another international pariah, one also with an interest in weapons of mass destruction. Osama believes in the 'enemy of my enemy is my friend, and someone I should cooperate with.' That is certainly the current case with Iraq. Saddam Hussein has a long history of harboring terrorists: Carlos the Jackal, Abu Nida, Abu Abbas. The most notorious terrorist of their era all found shelter and support at one time in Baghdad.
Intelligence sources say bin Laden's long relationship with the Iraqis began as he helped Sudan's fundamentalist government in their efforts to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Three weeks after the bombing, on August 31st, bin Laden reaches out to his friends in Iraq and Sudan. Iraq's vice president arrives in Khartoon to show his support for the Sudanese after the US attack. ABC News has learned that during these meetings, senior Sudanese officials, acting on behalf of bin Laden, asked if Saddam Hussein would grant him asylum.
Iraq was indeed interested. ABC News has learned that in December, an Iraqi intelligence chief, named Farouk Hijazi, now Iraq's ambassador to Turkey, made a secret trip to Afghanistan to meet with bin Laden. Three intelligence agencies tell ABC News they cannot be certain what was discussed, but almost certainly, they say, bin Laden has been told he would be welcome in Baghdad.''
And intelligent sources say that they can only speculate on the purpose of an alliance. What could bin Laden offer Saddam Hussein? Only days after he meets Iraqi officials, bin Laden tells ABC news that his network is wide and there are people prepared to commit terror in his name who he does not even control.
'It's our job to incite and to instigate. By the grace of God, we have done that.'"
Unless a person is in total denial, the existence of a connection between Saddam Hussein and Islamofacist terrorism is undeniable!

Yet Kerry and the MSM would have us forget. They have developed amnesia of what they were reporting years ago.
Just the fact the Saddam was paying Palestinian suicide bombers and manufacturing the vests in Iraq is enough, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
MSM seems to try to make the issue "Did Saddam order the 911 attack?" Totally irrelevant. Al Queda was only one terrorist group of many that Iraq was supporting one way or another.
And all reports, and even speeches by Senator Kerry, mention weapons of mass destruction. Bush did not invent this.
It was Clinton who signed the "Iraq Liberation Act of 1998" calling for a regime change in Iraq. I guess he just didn't figure out how to do it.

I came upon this thread as I was watching Chris Matthews and Bill Maher make fun of people who believe there was ever a connection between Bin Laden and Saddam. The MSM constantly portray us as dumb for letting President Bush convince us of such idiocy. They don't get it! We didnt' need convincing...never did....we know Bin Laden and Saddam shared the goal of killing us and destroying our country..

I wish Bush would say this to Kerry during the debate -
Saddam had WMD - he used them on his own people - the whole world knew he had them. What did he do with them? He never proved that he got rid of them.
If you had the responsibility of protecting the lives of 280 million people, and all of the intelligence said he had them - and he never showed any proof of getting rid of them - would anyone in their right mind not take him seriously?
Would anyone possibly think that he wouldn't conspire or hand them off to terrorists? One would have to be foolish to think he would not. A leader would be extremely irresponsible not to take action - would you rather fight the likes of Zarqawi over there or here?
Somebody get the President on the line....
Well, Ted Koppel and the ABC Evening News staff ought to be told about this.
They've been arguing the opposite for a couple of years now.
PING - IRAQ - Great find, back when MSM wanted to tell us about how Saddam was a bad guy. Now they act like they never told us this stuff .... We'll call that process Mediamnesia.
