This is an image of Mount St. Helens, taken from the Johnston Ridge Observatory. The Observatory and VolcanoCam are located at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet, about five miles from the volcano. You are looking approximately south-southeast across the North Fork Toutle River Valley.

I don't know how often it refreshes; I'm guessing every 10 minutes.

Ok, photo of mostly big, white clouds now. Nothing to see. It has been very foggy around here the past few days also.

Put your mouse pointer over the image and a box pops up saying it refreshes every 5 minutes...

Yep. I was going to say she might blow later tonight, but given the modern connotation to those words, I was trying to figure out a differet way to phrase it...

More I think about it, that ain't good. Fog is from hot under currents hitting cold upper currents. What was the temp out there today?

Think of it this way. If it does erupt, that will turn Washington into a Red state, because of the "disaster effect" which will happen when President Bush visits, distributed FEMA cash, etc.

If you think that's exciting, try "lawn.com" where you can watch grass grow.

King 5 is saying the alert level has been raised and ash (could/should/might/will?) soon be in the air. I think it's started an official eruption!

The alert level was raised earlier today, unless this is a new report it's probably just that. There's no actual eruption.
