WOLFVILLE, NS, September 28, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A church pastor in Nova Scotia has formally resigned his license to register marriages as a result of the decision by the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia to declare traditional marriage unconstitutional and redefine marriage to include same-sex couples. Reverend Lewis H. How, Rector of the Anglican Catholic Parish of Saint George announced his decision Friday in a letter to the Deputy Registrar General for the province.
"In response to the ruling today by the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia against the Institution of Holy Matrimony and your government's dereliction of duty in failing to oppose it, I write to inform you that where as I will not be a party to this violation of God's first Institution; from this court decision forward I do hereby cease to act as the Government's agent for registration of any marriages I may hereafter solemnize in this Province," said Rev. How.
The pastor's letter is a brief and brilliant composition on the subject of marriage and the damage done to society in failing to uphold it. (The must-read letter is posted in full on LifeSiteNews.com see link below). His letter concludes, "I am ashamed of my country today and continue to commit it in prayer to Almighty God, that through the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ it may come to repent of this sin."

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING PROPOSALS TO GIVE LEGAL RECOGNITION TO UNIONS BETWEEN HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS
Catholic Ping - let me know if you want on/off this list
BTTT
Reminds me of my reaction to the debacle of the televised confirmation hearings for Justice Thomas.
Both Clarence Thomas and Law Professor Anita Hill raised their hands and took an oath to tell the truth, and then one of them committed perjury.
Since then I have refused to take an oath in court or even in a hearing over unemployment for an employee who quit. I will affirm I will tell the truth, I understand the penalties for perjury, but I will not raise my hand or swear to tell the truth.
Oaths are now worthless wastes of time, as few respect the premise any more of being accountable to God if one violates the Commandment not to swear false witness.
And perhaps we are coming to the point that filing legal papers with the state after having a Christian marriage solemnized in a church with vows of to death do us part is now a denigration of the blessing of the union by God during the church ceremony.
Here comes the schism of the Church of England and its American equivalents. It cannot be stopped. The fate was set in stone when the first bits liberal garbage appeared within its hierarchy.
God Bless Him...

We can only pray.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
More men and women like this pastor are desperately needed. People who are not scared rabbits; people who have the courage and wisdom to stand up and speak out against evil. Even if it costs them something.
Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
Been out of town again. Thanks for the ping.
So the persecutions begin.... how many years until reformation away from the vial communist?
Good on yer Pastor How.
There are a few, during the course of history, who have stood up against evil. This man is one of the few, I'd say. However, I'd imagine most ministers in Nova Scotia today would marry a horse and a coyote, if they came asking, and not bat an eye.
He should resign if he is not going to do his job.
Marriage is more than a religious institution - it is a civil institution, demanding civil equality. The church can have its rules and regulations (not marrying gays, divored people, etc.) while the state has its own rules and regulations.
