DID JIM LEHRER WINK AT KERRY?
Posted on 09/30/2004 11:10:27 PM PDT by itsinthebag
Was just listening to Steve Malzberg's radio program. He said Jim Lehrer winked at Kerry as he (Kerry) was leaving the podium. Did anyone see this?

Lehrer said in his opening statement that he made up all the questions himself

He didn't seem to have to consider his responses, like the President did.Several points here:
- Bush had to pause a bit after each question to put together his answers. This is normal.
- Kerry had instant answers for ALL of Lehrer's questions. This is not normal. Some of them, maybe yes. But ALL of them, No! It's highly likely that he knew ahead of time what the questions would be.
- The only times I remember Kerry floundering around trying to figure out what he should say was in response to things Bush said, and not things Lehrer said. For instance, Bush's remarks to Kerry about his daughters being nice to the twins.
Something fishy going on here!
On the positive side, I've heard no one mention a couple of things that happened AFTER the debate:
- As the camera was on Lehrer the instant it all ended, the first one to speak in the background was Bush saying, "Great job!" to Kerry. The graciousness he demonstrated here made me really light up. I hope that at least SOME "undecideds" were affected the same way.
- Seeing GW and Laura and both twins up on one side of the stage, and Kerry with the woman he keeps chained in the basement on the other side, well ..... Sometimes a picture says a ton more than words, doesn't it? :-)

John Kerry's last sentence at end of first question:
"All of these, and especially homeland security, which we'll talk about a little bit later."

I think this is a oaranoid alley.
Look we need to be better organized, better prepared, and stronger emotionally.
The Rats by all accounts were better prepared than we were tonight. They were beter prepared to flood the online polling sites and to strike out at instpundit talk radio stations and television venues the moment that debates were over.
Hell they had an official e-mail from the DNC planning as much.
What the hell did we have here? A bunch of self defeatist, emotionally unstable babies and a handful of subversives all saying that we should throw in the towel!!!
Well I say to hell with that. We have an enourmous network here but we lack the ability to communicate effiecently and effectively as far as I can tell.
We need to regroup and speak with one orchastrated voice or continue to shoot ourselves inthe foot.

John Kerry's last sentence at end of first question: "All of these, and especially homeland security, which we'll talk about a little bit later." Again could be a coincidence, but all the rest? And the questions seemed a tad....anti-bush.

Look at how quickly Kerry began his response to the very first question. That moment speaks volumes. Remember the big blow about the lights and how the Dems were complaining and making a big noise about it. Then came the talking points from Dems about how short K's responses were. Estrich was on Hume before the debate, telling them Kerry had been timed and was finishing before time. Now how did he know what the questions were? Maybe this was "rather" a setup.

Now, there's much work to be done.

"Kerry scored huge (my opinion) pointing out slow rate in securing loose nuclear material in Russia. Our biggest fear is a nuclear attack. The idea that we could be dragging our feet in preventing that hits a chord."
Do you have any idea how much we have been spent "securing loose nuclear material" in Russia since the Soviet Union collapsed?

I copied and pasted that from another board, not my words, just posted it for the summation of the questions and answers.

Sorry, that one burned me up because these lying liberals sure love to send money down that rat hole with no bottom.

The dims antics over the lights before the debate were a sham divergence.
Take another look at how quickly Kerry responded to the first question, the very first question of the debate.

I agree Kerry had the questions, maybe someone with the video gear that tapped this will be able to do some analysis of the timing. I would love to see the pause times between Leher's questions to Kerry and compare them to the pause time between a Bush response and Kerry rebuttal?
I would bet $1,000,000 that Kerry has little to no delay in responses in the first part and at least 1-2 seconds on the second part.
