If there are any videos with Kerry and reporters. The lapse time he normally takes.

Savage saw the bias. He was screaming at Lehrer

Lucky you. I was listening to Savage and he said he would be back at the top of the hour but our station switched over to some ABC crap coverage. I was counting on hearing Savage's comments.

I just watched the replay on msnbc and he definitely winked at Kerry when he shook his hand.

Lol, Dan rather notwithstanding, I'm more inclined to believe (if this is true) that a dem aid somehow 'stole' the questions, than lehrer is conspiring directly with Kerry.

Ours did too. I streamed Savage directly from his flagship.

I just watched the end on Fox and thought the same thing although it happened so quick that it is possible that Lehrer blinked and that his right eye was obscured by Kerry's right arm so it looked like he winked. I'd need to see it again to be absolutely sure.

My logic may be fuzzy this late at night but:
Lehrer claims HE didn't share the questions with anyone in advance and the questions were his alone. Isn't it possible someone from the Kerry team "suggested" 10 questions and Lehrer CHOSE those 10 and only those 10?

The only times I remember Kerry floundering around trying to figure out what he should say was in response to things Bush said, and not things Lehrer said. For instance, Bush's remarks to Kerry about his daughters being nice to the twins.

Now that's a good point.

Here's what he said from the msnbc transcript:

but the specific subjects were chosen by me, the questions were composed by me, the candidates have not been told what they are, nor has anyone else.

From Lehrer's book:

But newspaperman Michael J. Howley, the debate moderator, and the panel of questioning journalists so fear the consequences of Meredith's impending presidency that they conspire to ruin him by dispensing with the set debate format and ambushing Meredith

Ambush, that's the word that I've been looking for all night! That's the feeling or impression I got watching this debate just couldn't find the word to fit the impression...ambush!

I think Leahr tried to ambush president Bush too. But, Bush still won. Kerry can't get past his flip flopping , can't be trusted because of it, and Bush brought that point home.

As far as Leahr and his "book" I'm wondering if we have the sequel to Rathergate here? Hope so, after all the slanted debates I've had to watch over the years thanks to Leahr. It would serve him right to be confronted about it. Go get him Pajama-warriors.

You are so right!

I went through the transcript and extracted just the questions, and it' very clear that is exactly what it was.

In his very first response, he closed with a mention of Homeland Security briefly and added "which we'll talk about a little bit later"

Yes. i noticed that too. So apparently Kerry did know the questions ahead of time.
