Putting the "F" Back in "Freedom"

TOPICS: Miscellaneous

The South Park Republicans are coming out with the funniest movie of the year. They skewer all the liberal titans, M. Moore, Kerry, Sean Penn.....They are strong supporters of the War on Terror. Check out the interviews and previews on the site.

They hated Saddam on Southpark and he is captured now. I hear that Kim Jon Il is the baddie in this puppet movie.

I wouldn't count on it being too republican until you see it. While they definately take aim on the Dem's, they will most likely hit us as well.

That said, I still love Southpark and am sure I will like the movie.

Watch the preview and the clip where the directors talk about deciding to use the Dear Leader as the bad guy....they also skewer M. Albright's trip to North Korea in their interview.

Great scene, Kim Il Crazy is shouting at a captured Team America woman and says, "inevitable...INEVITABLE..." She says, "I'm sorry", Kim Il Crazy shrieks again, "Inevitable!" she blinks and says, "One more time please."

You have to give one thing to Matt Parker and Trey Stone: they nuke everyone equally.

Of course Bush et al will get some hits, but in the interviews the writer and director both said, "When you're the most powerful country on earth, you have to take care of biz...." they also talked about the essential goodness of America.

Good point. To be honest, any hollywood movie with ANY anti-left humor strikes me as conservative. I have always liked SP because they are so even handed and, ultimately, are (as your quote says) ultimately pro-American..

I just did some searching and according to posts on other boards, one of the guys is a Republican and the other a Libertarian (I forgot to note which was which). It is nice to find some right wing entertainment (for those of us more socially ... umm... accepting) that doesn't involve "twang"...

That is probably true, but remember we welcome honest debate. The LIBERAL FUNDAMENTALISTS hate it so much that they label any contrary position as 'hate speech' or 'intolerance.'

Even if they hit both sides equally it's a net win for us - the Left isn't used to any criticism from popular culture, and will no doubt react in their usual whiny "how dare you!" fashion.

A big budget puppet movie! It's gotta rock.

Don't get me wrong. I love South Park, and I believe this film will be hillarious, but I seriously doubt you can call it "pro republican". Yes, they will surely dog liberals, but I am sure they will take a few stabs at Bush. That's just their way.

Yeah, they’ll take some digs at Republicans, but they’ll be funny anyway. And likely earned.

I just watched one of the clips, where they say “Team America is the world cops, the global police. They just go around shooting everybody and they think they’re doing great things and everybody loves them.”

There’s more than a kernal of truth in that.

Supposedly a lot of the Hollyweird Left get theirs in this film, not to mention fat-boy Moore. Oh, and the leftist group fighting against the good guys is called the "Film Actors Guild".

It won't be pro-Republican, but the digs at Bush will be weak and superficial.....voice etc. compared to some hits at the liberal IDEOLOGY itself. At least, if South Park is any guess.

I noticed that it was not yet rated. Any ideas? I'm just guessing it will be and "R" because of their penchant for swearing. Looks like it's gonna be a hoot, though, and Sir SuziQ and our teenagers are just dying to see it. Our oldest will be home on break from law school that week, so we could make a family night of it!

There was a thing on drudge last month - it almost got an nc-17 rating due to - get this - graphic puppet sex!

My guess is that the ratings board was ticked at seeing all their hollywood heros being lambasted by trey & matt.

I wonder how Matt and Trey would react to being told that their movie will be a part of "family movie night!"

Oh, it will be lucky to get R. This is Trey and Matt, and this ain't basic cable.

There have already been talks of GRAPHIC sex scenes (as graphic as puppets can get I guess). And I'm sure the f word will be used as much as swim suits in a pool.

If you take a good look back at most of the political episodes from South Park, you'll see that it is almost 100% down the line of what college age GOPers would say about that particular issue. Therefore we have South Park Republicans.

Watch the movie. They rip on Michael Moore, Sean Penn and Danny Glover. It would be hard to find a Republican who wouldn't love that....

And lets not forget how Trey & Matt have ripped apart Hollywood libs - Rob Reiner, Streisand, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi. They've ripped on left-wing causes: Earth Day, rain forest, sexual harassment, anti-smoking laws, stem-cell research and of course Satan's lover Saddam Hussein. Hell, they even called Democrats fascist. They do poke fun at the right but at a bare minimum to what they do to the left.

Trey & Matt have said they are Republicans -libertarian -but Pubbies nonetheless. I mean, you wouldn't have a group calling themselves south park Republicans if the creators of the show weren't Republicans themselves.

I am a college guy and a social Christian conservative.

But, I still love South Park and may have to see this movie the first day it comes out.....something almost unheard of for me.

There is no doubt that its mocking will be reserved mostly for the left when it comes to satirizing actual principles.
