I suspect John Kerry had Jim Lehrer's questions in advance... The questions asked, the way they were phrased and the sequence in which they were asked gave him far too many opportunities to debunk every negative flip flop fact exposed during the campaign. He was so efficient and concise he even had the opportunity to weave domestic policy shots in a foreign policy debate.
John Kerry's answers had the efficiency, grammar and formating of a prepared speech.
After the CBS forgery episode the obvious media bias is glaring and so evident it's actually brazen in its scope.
My thoughts exactly!
Why make unprovable assertions? It's pointless.
Eh,
You'd be amazed at what some people in competitive speech and debate are capable of in an impromptu speaking situation. It's simply a matter of practice and experience combined with natural ability (not that that has anything to do with the ability to be a good president).
Doesn't take a brain surgeon to guess what may be asked, either, without having to have had the actual questions in advance.
I agree...Kerry was very scripted and seemed to have some knowledge of the questions before hand.. The Presidents responses were more spontaneous and real...except the comment question... Very telling The President commenting on John Kerry and his daughters sounded sincere and Kerry's had a hard time with a response to the President, it caught Kerry off guard... Oh he said nice things.. quick, quick, ahh "yeah I echo what the president said" or some such horse crap.. very fake and disingenuous.
What's an opinion? Why did you comment on my assertion...? What's your point???
Bingo, Bob - you are the new Buckhead! Let's get the word out through PNN (Pajama Network News).
Exactly my thoughts last night. Up until I read this, I thought I needed more tinfoil.
"The only people who have quick answers don't have the responsibility of making the decisions." Justice Clarence Thomas
I agree. It was funny how one of Kerrys answers point to his service in Vietnam. The very next question was a Vietnam question. Almost a lead in.
John Kerry's answers had the efficiency, grammar and formating of a prepared speech.John Kerry's answers had the efficiency, grammar and formating of a proficient speaker. Accusing him of conspiring with Lehrer sounds desperate. JMO.
Every one of Kerry's responses was TOO orchestrated, too good to be true. Look at how he answered Diane Sawyer when she asked many of the same questions only a day before. It looked to me like a memorized speech.
Hey remember it's the SERIOUSNESS of the allegation that makes it totally valid...just ask Clarence Thomas!!
STATE THE QUESTIONS AS FACTS----
"Did you share the questions with both the candidates prior to the debate or just with Mr. Kerry?"
"Mr. Lehrer, why weren't the questions fair and balanced?"
"Mr. Lehrer, it's clear the questions were biased towards putting President Bush on the defensive at every point, why did you do that?"
See? It's just like when I stopped beating my wife....
G
Then why wasn't he a "gifted speaker" all these months on the campaign trail or the day before when being interviewed by Diane Sawyer?
Lehrer's politics are pretty obvious and what we once thought was beneath a newsman, likely goes on, to some degree, every day.
You don't need a question beforehand to have a memorized speech.
Lehrer wasn't going to ask him about our trade policy towards Luxembourg or something; it wouldn't have taken a rocket scientist (Even without a vast campaign and research staff) to basically guess what he was likely to be asked about and then develop totally prepared or semi-prepared practiced responses to those questions.
