I am having a bad weekend. If I hear or read one more thing about how Kerry is on the rise and Bush is falling way behind, I will die. I am so sick of the bias but I gotta tell you....it's starting to get to me. I pray Karl Rove and Company are cooking up something good. I'm in a funk.
The DNC talking point word is 'presidential'.......count how many times it will be used with reference to kerry's performance at the debate.
Why are you complaining? Let them get overconfident...maybe all their readers will vote for Nader, thinking Kerry is a done deal.
Neewsreek? Newspeek? Never heard of it. Must be one of them obscure blogs. I'd stick with some proven news sources like F/R, Drudge, and Powerline.
I know exactly what you are going through. On Thursday night after the debate I was so upset, I couldn't sleep. I think Karl Rove and all of us should help each other to bring up more of Kerry's "global test" and flips flops

Fear not. Team Bush has already released a hard-hitting ad hammering F'n over the "global test" thing. This will turn out to be the story of the debate - the fodder F'n gave us.
Second, Rasmussen, Gallup, and even Carville-Greenberg all say that Kerry improved his image but so did Bush (admittedly not quite as much) with the debate. Kerry's improvements will be short-lived - such debate bounces always are. The horse-race numbers from Rasmussen's polling last night were similar to his polling done before the debate - Kerry looks good to the dems - looks the same to the rest of America. Bush didn't deliver a knockout on Thursday, which we would have liked, but he's still in a dominant position.
Finally, glance at Newsweek, Time, NY Times, etc. but don't dwell on them. People in Ohio, Florida, Arizona and Colorado don't read those rags. Only libs who aren't coming to our side read them. They make NO difference. Get out of your funk - I, too was disappointed Thursday, but we are still ahead and time is ticking... We are now onto the debate about taxes, which will help W immensely...
They should have had something ready on Thursday night. They didn't. I thought GW was using Bush 1's handlers for the debate after his performance.
Two small datapoints for your consideration:
Newsweek's circulation for the first six months of 1989 was 3,288,453 from a)
As of 2003, worldwide circulation is more than 4 million, including 3.1 million in the U.S. from b)
They have less than 1/2 the circulation than in 1989. Now that is growth!

Thanks. You made me feel better. I was feeling rotten Thursday night and it seems like everything I see or hear this weekend makes things look bad for Bush and good for Kerry. It isn't like me to have a pity party but I'm a little worried. Thanks for pointing out some good news. I need it!

Don't sweat it. Kerry didn't even get a bump from his convention and his so called home run speech. Bush actually got a bounce from Kerry's convention. This is all demorat hype. Newsweak is famous for biased polls.
I expected the liberal media to pull out all the stops after Labor Day. Frankly, what they've done so far is pretty feeble. "Kerry won the debate" is the oldest trick in the book, and it will persuade very few readers.
I think Rathergate was the first gun in a huge campaign, and it imploded. Now the MSM are playing it by ear, and every day that goes by is another day wasted for them.
Think of the Watergate campaign or the Enron Campaign. That's what we'd be seeing now if not for Rathergate. They are still malign, corrupt liars, but their lies are feeble.

On top of this, I felt really down because of not having my beloved husband here to talk to about all this--he loved President Bush and for some reason right now I am really hurting even though he died more than more than two years ago. So--when FreeRepublic was down--I felt REALLY bad--WHAAAAAA!!
Thank God--literally--I realized that while politics is fascinating, and the election is very important, God is the most important thing in my life and I was not spending the daily time with him I needed to. So I opened his Word--and VOILA!!--there was the Comfort and Blessed Assurance (and re-assurance) I so badly needed.
Forgive me if I sound like I'm preaching, but I will always remember on election night in 2000, while all of us here on FreeRepublic were FREAKING OUT because the media told us Gore was winning Florida, someone reminded us that no matter what--God was in charge and we needed to seek His will--and so a bunch of us IMMEDIATELY started praying--and a few hours later Florida was no longer in the Gore column. I will NEVER forget the lesson of that night--nor the strength of my wonderful husband's praying--and I just want to share that with everyone here. So--God bless you guys, and our Commander in Chief, and our wonderful military!
