Here in Chester County, Pennsylvania, we have the punch cards of good ol' "Hanging Chad" fame. Having served as a Judge of Elections, I knew what total BS the whole chad issue was... I found that the punch ballots work perfectly fine, despite my initial surprise of encountering them when I moved here (having grown up with lever machines even in rural New York State).

I've already contacted both my Senators, my Congressman, my governor, my state Senator, and the DOJ, either asking what's going to be done about voter fraud or demanding that measures are taken to prevent it, and I'm planning to watch the polls on election night. I urge all other FReepers to do the same. We can't just sit here and complain; we have to DO something!

Didn't Philadelphia have more votes cast than registered voters in 2000?

Heck, according to Stephen Bronar, chairman of the University of Texas Economics Department, and John R. Lott Jr., a senior research scholar at the Yale University Law School, there were more registered voters than there were residents eligible to vote in 2000!!!

Their dry comment at the time was that "[People in Philadelphia] apparently take their civic responsibilities seriously..." -- noting that some precincts had 100% turnout with 99% Gore votes.

Other election manipulation is not so direct. Campaign workers complained in court that Democratic voters in the 7th Ward, 14th Division, had been given flyers promising free coffee and doughnuts and a chance at a turkey if they voted. Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Alan Teresko issued an immediate order commanding the illegal turkey giveaway to stop.

I am looking into being an inspector at one of these precincts this year. Anyone else interested in doing the same?
