XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
LOL True or not, this WON'T look good on a resume ;)
pING
Wonder if it was that 180 form......?
What a non issue....
I tivo'd the debate and I clearly see him reach into his pocket. So what?
I guess that it was against the rules to bring notes? Is that the case? If so, he cheated...otherwise, so what.
A rabbit?
He wasn't by any chance happy to see some one at the time was he? ; )
probably some notes or somthing. dunno. more than likely rules violations..
but hey, sKerry couldnt be a dim without breaking the rules. With many of the dim politicians its damn the rules, we will get our power back.
Cheating in a poltical debate where it gives you a clear advantage is not an issue? Ahh...ok sparky.
Your right. It's a Democrat, they are expected to cheat.
Do you see him pick something up from the podium AFTER the debate?
Using notes for the debate is not allowed, as in a violation of the rules.
If Kerry used notes it would indicate why he had such good replys.
Hows the Kool-aid?
Kerry pulled Jim's list of questions out of his pocket!
First I heard of this ...what was it? The answers to the test?
Kerry was pulling out the Global Test... He was gonna show it to everybody....
I think this would finish Kerry, if true.
Let me look. I minutes.
But even so, what's the point? Is it wrong to bring a note card? I really don't know and am curious. I think most people will just shrug it off.
LOUD ROTFLOL! Thank you for that :)
Inspect the candidates for radio hearing aids before the next event.
Drudge will stick it too him tonite. John Effin' has some explaining to do. I can't wait for the spin on Monday.
LOL!
Well, in a sense perhaps it was, for it may have been a form with notes that showed his present stance on an issue....any issue....just pick one!
Kerry: "I did slip a cheat sheet out of my pocket, before I slipped it back in."
One has to wonder if he cheated his way through college. Obviously he cheated his way out of combat duty.
Did you notice Kerry pull anything out of his pocket before the debate started?
It was against the rules to bring anything. Pen and paper were waiting for them on the podiums.
This is just about the runup to the Drudge radio show tonight. He always posts something provocative on Sundays that will get people to tune in.
We need better pictures frame by frame to see what he pulled out.
Here ya go. Apparently the duplicate threads were pulled. I've been watching a LOT of threads pulled today. KUDO'S to the mods!!!!!
I didn't know this was illegal in debates, of course unless that was a stipulation in the side doc.
LOL -- perfect!
Same here.
It's what he said, not what he brought.
How lame.
I don't think so. The Kerry people will just say Bush is whining because he lost. I won't make exscuses for Bush. He should have hammered Kerry and put this thing away, but he didn't. Time to move forward.

| Posted by SoCar On General/Chat ^ 10/02/2004 2:51:42 PM CDT · 19 replies · 468+ views I read on another message board that right before Kerry took the podium he removed something from his pocket and set it in front of him. They are saying it looked like a piece of paper. If Kerry had a cheat sheet that would be a blatant violation of the rules and could sink him for good. If this is true I wonder if Bush perhaps saw this and it flustered him? I am unable to view this because for some reason I can't get the C-Span video to play. It's 2 minutes into it. |

THIS TIME DURING DEBATE We all know that honesty has never been a Kerry trait ... so why should a Presidential debate be any different? ... Well, looks like Kerry was able to accomplish this by cheating. If you check CSPAN, Kerry is shown taking his "notes" out of his breast pocket as he stepped behind his podium. I went back and checked some of his recent campaign appearances, and it appears he brings out these "notes" or "talking points" quite frequently at the beginning of his... |

dang...I stopped it after Bush made his remarks. Did he pick it up after it was all over? If so, I missed it!
It says WATCH THE VIDEO... but it isn't active yet I guess.
His lucky wabbits foot.
I am more confident of a Pres. Bush victory on Nov. 2 after this debate. It's like this is the BEST they have to offer and they are hanging everything on it, a good showing in one debate! After months of a dismal cmapaign, minimal if any enthusiasm about Kerry, many mistakes, falling in polls in even "blue" states...And now he's a winner from one lousy debate?!
These next weeks will be filled with gloom and doom from the media for Pres. Bush. Don't believe it! We've been set-up by them all along with contrived polls. Just keep working, believing, and VOTE for Bush! No 3rd-party candidates this time, Please?!
It's not a non-issue if he cheated. Kerry was a member of the debating team in college, and I know from watching high school debates that some team members try to sneak notes into the debate. In fact, I saw one debate disqualified because the debater had notes somewhere on him (written on his arm, if I recall correctly).
Yawnnnnnnn. I don't care if he cheated or not. It's a non issue and it's nit pickin'. Kerry has far more serious flaws than this.
If the forged documents did not damage the dimocrats, I doubt anything will. They break into RNC campaign offices, they cheat with the debate polls, they lie, practive voter fraud every election, bla bla, and yet they are a few points behind in the polls. Go figure.
IT WAS AGAINST THE RULES TO HAVE ANY NOTES, CHARTS, ETC., ETC.
Yes it is against the rules..

To understand John Kerry is to understand his dad. Richard Kerry wrote in his book, The Star-Spangled Mirror, published in 1990:
"Americans are inclined to see the world and foreign affairs in black and white. They celebrate their own form of government and denigrate all others, making them guilty of what he calls 'ethnocentric accommodation' -- everyone ought to be like us. As a result, America has committed the 'fatal error' of 'propagating democracy' and fallen prey to 'the siren's song of promoting human rights,' falsely assuming that our values and institutions are a good fit in the Third World. And, just as Americans exaggerate their own goodness, they exaggerate their enemies' badness. The Soviet Union wasn't nearly as imperialistic as American politicians warned. Seeing the Soviet Union as the aggressor in every instance, and the U.S. as only reacting defensively, relieves an American observer from the need to see any parallel between our use of military power in distant parts of the world, and the Soviet use of military power outside the Soviet Union. . . . Third world Marxist movements were autonomous national movements -- outside Moscow's orbit."

They connected the dots in 1998 but Senator Kerry and MSM can't seem to connect the dots in 2004.
Here is an easy to read chart of what the media was saying pre-911 (and after): Connect the Dots...Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden
