XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX

DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?

What did Kerry place on the podium?

Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.

[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]

A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.

"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."

You have a lot more confidence in the integrity of MSM than I do. I'd like to think you are right, but I honestly believe the MSM is gonna just accuse the bloggers of doing their pajama thing again. I have no confidence in them whatsoever, unless it of course was Bush who did this.

Yes . . . and as good little "Buckhead" trainees, we need also to see every nuance ( a little French there) of his actions at the end . . . such as eating something suspicious, or sticking something back in his pocket.

What part of NO NOTECARDS were you having difficulty with?

Why are you such an ass? You know this is a discussion board? Where one posts a question then others reply. And it's not REAL-TIME, so I can actually be posting a question when someone else is replying or already replied?

There is no direct consequence to his cheating. What this does is call into question his performance in the debate, but more than that it directly impacts his character.

I saw him do that, too. I wondered what the heck it was; W didn't have a cheat sheet.

Bringing a note card with pre-written notes....giving yourself an advantage....which is against the rules, is not a big deal?

{sigh}Man, I wish people would read an the thread before replying to post #5 of a 500+ post thread. {/sigh}

The MSM will just accuse us of being terrorists again, no biggie. LOL

If they choose to ignore this, it'll be around watercoolers the way the Swiftees were. If they address it, people are going to be stampeding to check photos and tapes if he cheated. They are screwed either way.

" The Kerry people will just say Bush is whining because he lost. I won't make exscuses for Bush. He should have hammered Kerry and put this thing away, but he didn't. Time to move forward."

Just put yourself in W's shoes for ONE minute; if you were in front of 62,000,000+ people to answer questions you've never seen and your opponent CHEATS (and I submit that GWB KNEW he was cheating and it threw him way off), you would be able to give W more slack. This is pathetic and the president CANNOT be accountable for being 'perfect' when his opponent cheated.

No consequences whatsoever! He'll just deny it at first, then he will say, "I actually did not do it before I did it, blah, blah, blah. And the MSN will say, NOTHING!!!!

So Kerry favors conflict resolution by means of international summits and agreements.

What's the only way such agreements work?

That's right, they only work if all parties abide by them.

Bush followed the rules of the agreement, Kerry did not.

Who would you trust to be making agreements?

I just watched the video again, further this time. You're right, Bush's attitude does take a 180 degree swing! More importantly,

Kerry CLEARLY reads his "notes" before he ever wrote anything down!
