Hard to believe this isn't a lead item somewhere.

Just wait. It will be everywhere tomorrow.

We all know the news media will carry this story with great glee. If W cannot find a way to regain momentum quickly, the story will snowball, and he will be in serious trouble.

Time for Karl Rove to get out there and earn that genius label again.

haha, this would be a good DU scam and my hat would be off to them. It would be equivalent to the Zogby interactive strategy of them registering with Zogby as GOP so that when Zogby applied his partisan mix target, they were over-represented. That was an effective maneuver because it hit national press.

But the numbers faded, of course.

That is odd.

I want to see the breakdown of the numbers.

I started noting the infestation during the live debate thread. Actually its really bad, sort of wrecking the trustworthiness of the place.
The mods gotta step on this. This entire thread has been a troll, I believe. Who ever heard of a poll with one percent undeceided?

People do forget, I'm sorry to say.

Look what happened to President Bush's father who was a Man so superior to that b-cup sporting, cellulite-ridden, reprobate clinton that it's not probably measureable. Yet he lost.

I know that situation is not necessarily analgous to the present one, with this President, but I can tell you that those people who swing elections are looking for a reason to dump President Bush, all they need is a little assurance that his fill-in will not make us more vulnerable to serious attack.

Kerry scored a direct hit when he said, 'I misjudged which words to use, he misjudged when to go to War. Which is worse?' And the only reason he scored that direct hit was because President Bush did not respond in a way that could defang that assertion.

Unfortunately- I think these polls may be somewhat correct. My parents, who are democrats, decided to vote for Bush. They didn't like Kerry, his wife, or his many homes. After the debates, they went back to Kerry. Bush didn't show the average voter his real stuff. I know we all want to analize the heck out of it. Turn of your brain and watch the debate with just eyes, (the way the average, uneducated voter does). Bush didn't do what we needed him to do. Let's hope for better debates, and a GREAT October surprise. Face reality, and do what we need to do to win the election. Volunteer at your local Republican office. Make calls, pass out literature, talk to people! It's time to fight the fight!

In the final analysis this stuff doesnt' matter. Call the campaign and volunteer. Note that the campaign knows which rental vans the Dems are getting election day in cities. Renting the day before and just keeping them past return date and paying the extra day charges is a great strategy and the campaign will need drivers in the cities where the Dem votes are. Be sure to call and volunteer. You'll need to be available a few days before the election and on that day too to drive the vans out to the suburbs where are voters are.

"Listen man DON'T get your shorts in a wad. Do you have any idea what this man has been thru in the past 3 years?
I could see he was terribly tired and drained, GW has aged 10 years in the past two.

Remember, that he and he alone has got to shoulder the responsibility for our troops and the safety of this Nation. And to have a miserable little manicured twit like Kerry make accusations of a wrong war and insinuate that the President is to blame for the death of the troops etc. just really pees me off.

I could see the hurt in GW's face and I know it cut thru his heart like a knife.

And now, to believe that half of this country wants this turd as their next president just absolutely makes me sick to my stomach.

As far as I'm concerned, I may even enjoy watching these simple minded, self centered people get their just rewards when they get the President of their choice, as they will deserve what he will bring to them. I'm 71 y/o seen combat in Korea 51-52 and two tours in VN in the sixties. So don't have that much to lose myself. Hopefully I will be able to get my family out, before the need to meet our attacker in the street of our cities."

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!

AS FOR SOME ON THIS THREAD, AND MANY OTHER THREADS SINCE THURSDAY, I HAVE JUST ONE THING TO SAY: WHAT A PATHETIC BUNCH OF GIRLY MEN AND PANSY WOMEN!

Many, including me, foreshadowed these polling results weeks ago -- it was all quite predictable!

What we need to do now is show some political MATURITY and PERSPECTIVE!!

Toward this end, I invite Freepers who are still capable of rational thought to post comparative numbers from 2000 (same timeframe, i.e., postDebate 1)!! I KNOW THAT WE ARE IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE NOW THAN WE WERE THEN!! At worst, we're either tied or up by 3-5 points; in 2000, many polls had us DOWN by double digits!!!!

"People have been criticizing me since Thursday for saying this. I knew it the night of the debate."

People are criticizing you because you're wrong.

I wish I was wrong. I have been defending Bush endlessly on these boards and in the real world for 4 years now.

The night of the debate I was cheering Bush through the first half of the debate and was convinced he was beating Kerry.

But by the end of the debate I knew he had lost it.
Numerous posters criticized me for saying this.

However, every poll the next day and since then have proven I was right. Even the FOX News polls shows Kerry winning the debate nearly 3 to 1.
Those are devasting numbers.

Facing reality isn't seeing one bad debate and proclaiming the whole election is over.

I never said that. I have said that I still believe Bush will win, if for no other reason than I can't believe Americans could elect a flip-flopping fraud like Kerry.

However after seeing the debate on Thursday, I and other Republicans I've talked to believe Kerry might actually be able to BS his way into the White House.

I'm still hoping this will turn back around and Bush will regain the momentum he had before this debate.

This time, Bush lost the first debate, but Kerry has provided some huge whoppers about his positions.

In the beginning of your post you said I was being criticized because I was "wrong", but now you are agreeing with me that "Bush lost the first debate".

Are you wrong too?

Here is some more confirmation from Bloomberg:

[T]he Gallup Organization, showed Kerry pulled even with Bush when potential voters were asked who they would choose if the election were held now.

[...]

Bush and Kerry are tied at 49 percent each in a survey of 772 likely voters conducted by the Washington-based Gallup Organization Oct. 1-3, CNN reported. The results are a reversal from Gallup polls conducted during September, which showed Bush leading by as much as 13 percentage points.

Actually, Bush dropped 5 points against Gore to dead even at 45% going into the 2nd debate. After the second debate he dropped behind. Before gaining a small lead going into the election.

300-500 fewer than Gallup has used in the past as well as a poll done Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Usually Gallup tends to poll a few days longer than that and doesn't use the weekend for most of its poll.

Well said!!!!!!!! Bush has proven himself in our Country's darkest hours. He has taken all the blame and served this Country without political considerations. He deserves far more respect than kerry and the lib nuts have given him.

I must confess, if kerry makes it to the White House and I then see throats being cut, heads being removed and people being killed by the thousands on our very own streets, I will shake my head and mock the libs for getting exactly what they asked for. I will have absolutely no empathy for them and I would not lift a finger to help them.

I find this very odd that the story is being reported by all organizations except by the ones that took the poll.

I agree! If they way a man stands, or smirks affects 15% of the voters, were gone! All a Bush reelection would do is forestall the inevitable. Turn our troops over to the U.N. , kill some more pre-born humans, marry your farm animals and wait for God's judgement!

OK I have not had a good COMMISH RANT in a long time, but it is time for one. Please do not take this personally, this is directed at a lot of people not at you particularly

< COMMISH RANT ON >

I am sick and friggin tired of all the sky-is-fallin doom and gloom panty waist whiney ass crybabies infecting this site!!!! Get it through your collective freakin heads - BUSH DID NOT LOSE THE ELECTION BECAUSE OF THIS FRIGGIN DEBATE!!!

First the Whine was--Bush is letting the Dems hog the spotlight in the primariews, then Bush is letting kerry Define him, Bush should fight back, bush should do this, Bush should do that, Bush's campaign sucks, Karl rove is an idiot, I can't believe Bush isn't ... BLAH BLAH F*CKING BLAH!!!!!! You know what - If Bush and his campaign are so bad, Vote for FRIGGIN MICKEY MOUSE THEN!!! If Bush sucks so much, go somewhere and whine to someone who gives a Shiite.

< /Commish Rant>

Now on to this most likely cooked Poll, if it is a real poll...have not seen it on any major news source yet. It means nothing until we see the internals.

People have REPEATEDLY pointed out that the last 2 GALLUP POLLS showing huge Bush leads are suspect because they WAY OVERSAMPLED Republicans. JUST LIKE NEWSWEAK!

My bet, This poll Oversamples Democrats. JUST LIKE NEWSWEAK. Take the internal breakdowns of this poll and the previous REP OVERSAMPLE, change them so they match, and I bet the results will be the same in each poll instead of HUGE BUSH LEAD DOWN TO TIE!!! Anyone want to take that bet? Didn't think so.

Bottom line - The Polls were oversampled to show a BUsh lead, and are now over sampled to show a HUGE KERRY COMEBACK. REALITY - Somewhere in the middle, about a 5% Bush lead -- just like EVERY SINGLE OTHER POLL THAT HAS A STEADY SAMPLING!!!!

So, all you crybaby doom & Gloomers - either suck it up and jopin the game or go home and cry in your beer.
