Rumsfeld backtracks on al-Qaida, Iraq links Official says he was misunderstood, didn't mean to minimize ties

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6180176/

So, is there a link, or are we being subjected to more double talk?

Oh yes, there is a link.. there has always been a link - back to Clinton's term. And yes, it is the same double talk as the media's treatment of the 9/11 Commission's "findings"... and David Kay's report.

Salman Pak: Iraq's Terror Training Facility

BTW - Thank you for your service in Afghanistan.

eh. I wouldn't get too excited. Osama is an icon to the islamo facist mindset. Not surprising that they have his literature lying about. Big deal.

This just prove beyond a shadow of a doubt why we need to be in Iraq. We need to hunt down Islamo Fascists wherever they hide and to do that we need unfettered access to those countries. This is why we preemptively invaded Afghanistan and why Hussein was removed from power, because he would not have let us fight the terrorists in Iraq. Pakistan agreed to work with us, Libya has agreed to allow weapons inspectors to dismantle their WMD program. Syria and Iran are next.

What a great set of links. I wonder if anyone in the Bush debate prep team has seen these? Judging by Thursday's debate, it wouldn't seem so.

.

Here is my chart of what the media was saying pre-911 and after:

Connect the Dots...Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.

http://www.archive-news.net/Articles/SH040923.html

There are dozens of articles, but I have a criteria of: preferably original source, live links on the Internet, and not a restricted site. In other words, sites where people can actually read the full article. I've made a few exceptions and put in reproduced articles.

I'll look through and add from your list. Thanks.

lol! That's probably the silliest post I've come across in quite some time. Reality check. Afghanistan was invaded due to their close association and withholding of Osama. Iraq was invaded, among other reasons, for Saddam's support of terror and the possibility that WMD would be developed and then given to terrorists.

Hate to break it to you but most of the Islamic world hates us and is a big fan of Osama and his fanaticism. In Nigeria a few years back Osama was one of the most popular baby names. Hence why I and others shouldn't be so surprised to see books gloryfing the nutcase lying around. Is the proper response to that your inane "yeah man lets invade the whole Mideast! Nuke'em!" Of course not. Kill off current terrorists who pose a threat to us, make sure others don't replace them and take down any govts that interfere with the previous two conditions.

Thanks so much for that link.

Having read about the facility quite some time ago and actually seen a close up picture of the hull of the plane they used to train the scum that started this war with the attack on the WTC I have been looking for the documentation.

Do you know where more detailed pictures of the training plane are on the Internet?

Thanks, you and the other archivers have been doing a fantastic job!

I believe Global Security's website had a few up-close pics of the facility/plane along with their satellite shots... (Salman Pak)

I'll ping Diogenesis, as they may know where the detailed pics of the Salman Pak plane may be found... How about it, Dio? :)

Sorry to break the news to you, but your post was the lame one. I was just trying to be polite, by pointing out your error in logic, without insulting you. Let's examine your original post. Do you think any Iraqi with an IQ of over 10 would not have destroyed anything with bin Laden's name or image on it with the country crawling with US soldiers, unless he was willing to die for Osama? An Iraqi possessing literature featuring bin Laden in Iraq today is analogous to a German in the fall of 1945, flying a Nazi flag or hanging Hitler's picture in his living room.

In Nigeria a few years back Osama was one of the most popular baby names.

Is this supposed to be an example of your superior reasoning skills? From the same flawed reasoning one would come to the conclusion that the majority of Americans are Brittany Spears fans because Brittany is the most popular girls name. If we were to invade Nigeria, I would guess that bin Laden promotional material would become scarce and little boys named Osama would be going by their middle names.

Is the proper response to that your inane "yeah man lets invade the whole Mideast! Nuke'em!" Of course not. Kill off current terrorists who pose a threat to us, make sure others don't replace them and take down any govts that interfere with the previous two conditions.

Where did I say the above. Interestingly you used quotes for words I never said or wrote. Your hyperbole destroys what little credibility you had left. Oh and tell me how do we kill terrorist in Iran and Syria without either overthrowing the Syrian and Iranian governments or convincing them to cooperate with us (a highly unlikely proposition) or killing the terrorists from those countries when they come to Iraq to kill us there?
