Good Place For Conservatives to LIve

Posted on 10/07/2004 6:02:34 PM PDT by OXM_1962

I hate living in western Oregon and am seriously contemplating moving to another part of the country.

I prefer more sunshine, less cloudy days and a conservative majority.

Any advice is kindly regarded.

Yes on Lubbock. Its the only place my career took me where I sported a bumper sticker on my car. It read "I LOVE LUBBOCK."

I live about 35 miles north of Birmingham and six miles off of I-65. I can be in Huntsville in about an hour. Huntsville is a real gem, combines high tech and Southern charm.
Huntsville is the home of the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center, the folks that made the Patriot Missile.

I live right next to Lambeau Field

Didn't you hear John F'n Curry call it Lambert Field? Have a little respect (and a prayer for the soul of Rodney Dangerfield).

I was in San Antonio two weeks ago. The city was nice, but the territory to the west something else again. Looked to me like prime horse riding country.

I bet real estate prices are up there with Southern California.

Try Waxahachie Texas...Close to Dallas and or Arlington. Lots of real estate available. Victorian homes are plentiful. Area's growing but not crowded like areas north of Dallas.

Moving from Seattle to Montana is my dream. Alas, it looks like it'll be Philly. Unfortunately, I need a job.

Montana is now filling with far-left Californios, all RATs. In my time in Montana, such creatures would have been shot or deported.

But isn't the property tax sky high.....?

Property tax rates differ by county, I believe, so if that's a major concern for you, just choose your location accordingly. And as another poster pointed out, land is pretty cheap in Texas as long as you stay away from the most desirable sections of big cities.

How did you get into the Road-Killed Beeber Association when you started your account, before you even started posting?

Or is there another RKBA out there that I don't know about?

You can always hope for a comeback of old time values.

The Shenendoah Valley is gorgeous, I went to college there (James Madison University '87). Four distinct seasons, low cost of living, and you're surrounded by natural beauty. I had my political awakening after I left school, but I imagine that it's got to be pretty conservative up there.

You could always come down here to South Carolina...if you like heat. And humidity. And large bugs. But mostly heat and humidity. It's a great place, though, seriously. I love South Carolina, been here almost seven and a half years.

What are the communities to the north, such as Denton, like?

Sounds like Santa Fe?

You're exactly right. The north eastern part of NM is heavily RAT infested. There's a lot of them where I live too, and I'm in the north western part of the state, close to the AZ border.

North Central Arkansas is great. The climate is nearly perfect.....4 distinct seasons of normal duration, and none too severe. People still openly talk about God and go to church. Lakes and rivers abound and the fishing is second to none, I hear. Stay out of Faggotville Fayetteville though. Between the queers and illegals, it isn't fit to live there, even though it is one of the fastet growing and safest cities in the country.

Move to Martha's vineyard. That's real conservative, and you could hang out with French Kerry.

We are in western NY. Don't move here. Although we enjoy 30 acres of beautiful countryside with tough winters the liberals in this state ruined it with punitive taxes. We too will move to a friendlier place. Kind of sad after 41 years. NY taxpayers actually pay into the state's teachers union members' pensions -- it is NY law! The revolutionary war started for less. So my wife and daughter are looking at Wyoming. Somewhere close to Vice President Cheney. We'll settle for somewhere within 100 miles. They have great fishing and hunting too!

What is the Shenandoah Vally like? How about the upper Potomac?

Both very beautiful. However, urban sprawl is creeping into there from the DC area. Front Royal is a very nice place to live.
