Badnarik Arrested
Badnarik Website ^ | October 8, 2004 | News from the trail

8:38PM CST

The first report from St. Louis is in - and presidential candidates Michael Badnarik (Libertarian) and David Cobb (Green Party) were just arrested. Badnarik was carrying an Order to Show Cause, which he intended to serve the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). Earlier today, Libertarians attempted to serve these same papers at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the CPD - but were stopped from approaching the CPD office by security guards.

Fred Collins reported to me from the ground that Badnarik and Cobb are in great physical condition and great spirit.

As soon as more details are available, they will be posted here immediately.

They should have arrested Kerry instead, for his admitted war crimes.

I guess there's at least one town where Badnarik can get arrested.

If they would have arrested Osama, Kerry would proclaim the "War on Terror is Over!"

A pointless stunt by a minor, kook candidate.

Didn't Alan Keyes pull a similar trick during the 1996 town hall debate, chaining himself to the front door of the auditorium before he was dragged off screaming by the cops?

Oh yeah, they were two of the eight who were arrested. Total kooks. One of 'em was prancing around with no shirt on!

Is anyone voting for Badnarik? I understand that Libertarianism is a great idealogy, maybe even superior to Republicanism.... but I really don't want a lot of good conservatives to turn their back on the President because of fiscal isses. This election is too close for people making protest votes... its the equivalent of the liberal Nader voters.

yeah... because non-partisan debates really means "bi-partisan". What woulda been the harm letting them in on the fun?

Waste of time. He's (thank G-d) not in danger of actually winning, so all he'd do is take up time from those who might actually win -- and thus affect our lives profoundly.

That and we couldn't have our boy George shown up by someone who has acutally read the Constitution. A lightweight like Kerry is about the most the President could hope to win against.
