John Kerry can tell if you make more than $200k a year, just by LOOKING at you!

Posted on 10/09/2004 6:57:32 AM PDT by JohnRand

Kerry: "...And looking around here, at this group here, I suspect there are only three people here who are going to be affected: the president, me, and, Charlie, I'm sorry, you too."

Kerry speaking in last evening's debate about his plan to raise taxes on people making 200k+ annually. So now John Kerry is prejudging people by just looking at them to determine their income?!? He decided that the only people in the room that qualified as his new tax-hike victims were himself, Bush and Charlie Gibson! Wow, a big criticism many liberals have of Bush is his supposed "arrogance", there was simply nothing more arrogant and ignorant than that statement that Kerry made and it will probably haunt his campaign...

It's amusing to me that Kerry thinks he can tell how much money people have by the way they look.

Has he really taken a look at Teraayza lately?

She looks like an unkempt bag-lady (with apologies to bag-ladies everywhere).

Please don't forget the Kerrys and Edwards in Ohio. Teresa didn't even know what chili was at the Wendy's so they went back to the bus and ordered a five course meal from a local country club.

I wonder about this too....maybe he is one of the peons who does not make 200k if he doesn't count his allowance from his wife. What a jerk!

Does KERRY earn over $200k for his "no-show" Senate job? I don't think so! Where would HE be on the income distribution curve without Tear-E-suh???

Boy, would I love to see their pre-nup.

I wonder if he gets only a measly 5 million or so if she throws him out. He'll be back to borrowing other people's apartments, not even owning his own bed again.

TBB,

You are so right, what a condescending twerp. I have read the book and know MANY that fit the profile in the book.

F'in may have had many in his audience and insulted them "Big Time".

He dissed our allies the Poles again and insulted their proud descendants and immigrants in states like PA.

I think he really has screwed the pooch when it comes to the Polish vote and NOBODY is talking about it.

He was probably thinking that no one in the audience was making more than he is - his Senate salary is $158,100 for 2004.

He's actually not very wealthy - I imagine his pre-nup weighed more than a telephone book. Bush, on the other hand, has substantial personal assets and a high annual income.

It just shows how conflicted F'n really is - he thinks of himself as superior, but it's all just affected. Bush is a regular guy who doesn't go out of his way to remind you of who he is.

"You're right. Is he that shallow that he would judge people's wealth by their clothes ? Or maybe he was looking at their hair and thinking "Hmmm, sure doesn't look like one of those $1000 haircuts I get."

Ole Johnny sure would have a hard time up here in Maine where guys like Steven King sure don't look the part. sKerry comment was pretty stupid and hopefully the Dem talking heads will have to explain it. Imagine if Bush had said anything close?

"Kerry, Look at me! What's my income!"

Ha ha, that's funny. Made me think that after sKerry loses the election and Mama T dumps such a loser, he can go get a job with a traveling carnival. Instead of guessing your weight, he can guess your income. (Or he could just go join a freak-show as...)

Isn't Kerry's "Do away with tax cuts for the rich (>$200K) a moot point anyway? I thought Congress did not extend that provision last week, and the rates will therefore automaticallhy go back to those under Clinton starting in 2005. (i.e. 39.5% top marginal rate vs. 35%) Am I missing something?

sKerry made clear he had deigned to walk among the peasants last night.

And BTW--DOES sKerry earn more than $200K per year? What's his Senate salary? Or does he count his joint checking account with his daughter's "step-money" (their name for her) as "earned" income ????

Yes that was very very smug and arrogant of him --- you could see the loathing he had being in the same room with what he took to be middle class type people. He's almost as bad as Hillary the way he talks down to people he doesn't consider to be his fellow aristocrats.

The true remarks Kerry should have made;

You don't need to work hard because the more money you make the more I will tax the hell out of you.
I know I voted for tax increases over 96 times but really trust me on this one, 97, 98 and 99 are coming.
Don't worry about paying your bills at the hospital that one guy in the audience will pay for it but if everyone in the audience pitched in it could be paid down in oh, 100 years.
I met Saddam and he told me that he would only use WMD on people making over $200k if I put him back in power.
We had Bin-Laden trapped in Tora Bora and I know from my days in Viet Nam, I secretly went to Tora Bora and personally mapped out every cave and tunnel.

When Kerry made his "only 3 people in the room" statement, I had to ask myself just how John Kerry aquired his wealth.

Barring any assets that were his former wife's, or any assets that are his current wife's, just how did John Kerry amass any significant wealth, and what kind of money are we talking about?

I said the very same thing when he spoke to several people that way. We make more than that but save a ton and don't live to that level. You wouldn't know it by our lifestyle. I took great offense to that. He is arrogant and and elitist at heart.
