Wouldn't Terri Schiavo "wish" divorce - since her hubby's cheating?

I have never understood why they can not win this case in court. No idea. The man was having an affair during his malpractice hearing! Terri never renounced her Catholic faith, regardless of the fact she had not attended regularly. She obviously would not have wished to stay married to someone who broke their marriage vows! Her religous beliefs speak for her.

Yes, Terri had a friend who said that Terri DID discuss divorce, with her. If a casual conversation could be enough to kill her, one would think that a casual converstion in combination with her husband's infidelity, and her inability to participate in a physical marital relationship would all combine to sway a court to give her a divorce, and to transfer guardianship to Terri's family.

Terri's brother had testified that Terri and Mike were in an argument the night before she was found not breathing on the floor of their apartment.

Husbands don't always have their wife's best interest at heart. If they could, Lacy Peterson and Lori Hacking would testify to that fact!

I wonder if the Catholic Church could petition the court on behalf of Terri, for a divorce? If they would grant a dissolution, that would give Terri one leg to stand on.

Have the parents tried to obtain such an annulment on Terri's behalf. If not, I think they should. I think it could only help, and not hurt.

Perhaps not in the legal system, but can not the Pope do anything he wants? Can he not make a judgement? Why not plead a religious case to the Pope?

I don't follow. Why? The pope has no legal standing in teh state of Florida. If the pope were declare the marriage annuled, that would only be in the religious sense. The marriage would still stand until legally disolved.

This is why the government needs to protect women's bodys from their husbands. She needs to be independent of her husband. She needs to be treated as an individule. The law should not give a husband the right to decide if a wife will live or die. Husbands are NOT God!

I pray everyday that God will provide justice for Terri. I pray that the HINO will suffer the same pain he has caused the Schindlers and Terri. He should fear, for God is a Just God, and is the God of the helpless. He hears our prayers, and unless Schiavo turns from his sin, he is in a whole lotta trouble.

The LORD answers prayer. If you don't believe it, read this:

It would be an argument, or add to the argument that the state SHOULD grant Terri a divorce.

They could point out that the Pope found enough reason to annul the marriage...and according to Terri's baptism and confirmation in her faith, which she never renounced, she would abide by the Pope's decree, thus, since the state has no jurisdiction and no right to interfere with religious freedom, they have no right to force Terri to stay legally married to this man who her religion says IS NOT HER HUSBAND!

I see quite a few postings painting with a broad brush about Floridians and their values. Please remember there are those of us here in Fl who do value life.

You are right: there are wonderful Floridians. Unfortunately they are badly outnumbered, it seems, in Terri's fight. I believe that the majority of FL now clearly supports euthanasia in circumstances such as Terri, and the poltiicians have come to that conclusion as well. That's why Terri won't be spared THIS TIME!

I have never understood why they can not win this case in court. No idea.

Here's why: George W. Greer, himself a disabled blind man, supports euthanasia for Terri, and he won't accept any other alternative, despite the parents' willingness to assume for her care.

George W. Greer rigged the "trial" phase of the case in favor of Michael R. Schiavo.

Appeals do not address the "trial" hearing facts. The facts remain the permanent record and cannot be changed by law. Appeals address not fact but whether any legal principles were violated in the "trial" phase. Of course, George W. Greer will say there were no errors in this "trial", and Greer's crony judges, Republicans Demers and Baird, agree solidly with him

So there is no justice in FL. People in FL do not realize how George W. Greer could be the "reincarnation" of the old Egyptian Pharaoh who clashed with Moses.

Wedding vows are meaningless in most USA courts today, but I guess we could say that only George W. Greer (himself divorced) and his cohorts Demers and Bairds strongly believe in the sanctity of "I do."!!!!! At least for poor Terri, but probably not for anyone else

I have one question about the husband. Was he unfaithful throughout their marriage? Or did he start cheating on Terri only after he had lost hope for her recovery?

These are irrelevant questions in the court of George W. Greer. George W. Greer will yet receive the "Courageous Judge of the Year Award," I am convinced. Greer actually bases his decisions on "hearsay"!!!
