A little bit more info would be nice.
It is absurd.
Edwards says Kerry as President will heal the paralyzed.
They will get up out of their wheel chairs and walk!!!
Can a candidate sink any lower?
Benny Hinn is their new consultant and will be Surgeon general.

I can't figure out why Bush hasn't used this against the Kerry campaign. I took my parents out to dinner over the weekend. They support Bush, but didn't really have anything against Kerry. When I told them about Edwards' amazing ability to channel the spirits of disabled children, they were very angry. My dad was wondering why we haven't seen this in the news. I would think calling attention to this would really help the Bush campaign.

is there anyway to find out the settlement figures of that case Edwards had:
Campbell v. Pitt County Hospital?
or any others.
I think people would be shocked to see how much the lawyers get from the winnings - up to 60% - and then take out the fed income taxes - levied on the entire amount and see how small a part - is any - some end up still owing taxes! = that the victim gets.
This would show people who REALLY benefits from these lawsuits.
To: Jackass70130
If he means dead people are going to get up and vote, I'm sure he's right.

Charles Krauthammer, last night on FNC Special Report, commented on this Edwards quote. Krauthammer is himself a quadriplegic and a doctor. He called Edwards comment the worst political rhetoric he has ever heard.
Mort Kondracke was trying to take up for Edwards, or rather stem cell research but Krauthammer kept commenting on Edwards. He also made mention of the fact that it is not funding that is holding back stem cell research but science. Krauthammer was horrified at Edwards.

PLEASE DO NOT INSULT BENNY HINN OR GOD.
There is divine healing, and I have experienced it and through a Benny Hinn service. Be careful, it is one thing to make fun of a stupid politician making lying claims and another to make fun of God abilities or his servants. That is dangerous ground. You may not agree with how the Holy Spirit chooses to work, but remember one scripture "all sins will be forgiven men but blasphemy against the Holy Ghost will not be forgiven ...."
If the truth be known, I would say BH will vote for W...he's a conservative christian.

I believe this is what you're looking for:
The jury awarded $6.5 million, then a state record for malpractice cases. The award was reduced on appeal to $4.25 million.
snip
Whatever the figure, Edwards became a rich man. Typically, plaintiffs' attorneys earn 25 to 40 percent of an award or settlement -- and nothing if they lose.

Edwards won a groundbreaking $6.5 million settlement, which was reduced on appeal to $5.75 million. The settlement set a new record in North Carolina, and the case set new precedent in medical liability law.

typically the attorneys get 1/3 of the settlement or judgment, 40-45% if it goes to appeal.
In the meanwhile they take all the risk, too. They aren't paid on cases that can take years to develop and try. If they are lucky, they will get their expenses reimbursed. They have to continue to pay their office expenses, staff and the costs of litigation which can be pretty heavy with depositions, expert witnesses, etc.
They don't get paid for nothin'
