Vanity - Bush Over-Prepped for Tonight's Third Debate?
Wednesday, October 13, 2004 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/13/2004 3:22:46 PM PDT by kristinn

I've been listening to ABC News radio's hourly reports during the Sean Hannity show this afternoon. Their reporter, Ann Compton (IIRC) said that President Bush has been cramming (my word) for tonight's third presidential debate in Tempe Arizona.

She reported Bush aides have told her Bush had two debate run throughs with his sparring partner today. And that Bush has been reading note cards containing data on John Kerry's Senate voting record while being driven around in motorcades.

I hate to be a gloom-and-doomer, but this doesn't fill me with confidence. The last thing I'd want before a debate is to have my head filled with loads of new information and statistics and get burnt out with two debate run throughs with the real one hours away.

I figure by this time you go with what's in your gut, your head and your heart.

My apologies if I end up unduly alarming folks, but I am concerned.

Bush's performance in this first debate was due to fatigue. He had toured Florida earlier in the day while Kerry sat around a Miami hotel.

Don't worry. Bush will do fine.

It didn't say it was new info. I'm glad to hear he is preparing myself.

"Bush's performance in this first debate was due to fatigue. He had toured Florida earlier in the day while Kerry sat around a Miami hotel. "

The President may actually win Florida because of his compassionate response that day.

I think it's great. It's similiar to final exams in college. I know that for me, I was studying right up to entering the door. I graduated with honors, so it must have helped. ;)

Kristinn, if it wasn't an old soldier like you, I'd poke some fun with a counter-title like

Vanity - should we bother watching the debate, or just go right ahead and shoot ourselves?

But since it's you, I won't.

It doesn't matter. No matter what the President does or does not do he will be criticized and Kerry will be named the winner. The MSM already has the headlines written-Terry McAuliffe already sent the headlines out.

Actually I heard on FNC this morning, if I recall the net correctly, that 43 had finished prepping yesterday and was going to relax today :)

We're all praying like mad and crossing our fingers, too. The secret to these debates, when you're faced with a question...is to answer it, but mention your opponent's failure in that regard. So GW could bring up Kerry's famous Plans for everything, all those new programs costing trillions, but Kerry's saying he'll cut taxes on the middle class. How can you do that and still pay for pie in the sky, when the middle class is the meat and potatoes where tax revenue is concerned? Kerry cares so much about medicare but didn't bother to show up for votes on medicare. That fact GW hit Kerry with last time, and Kerry had no answer...just sat down and tried to look as if he were somewhere else. The big thing for GW is to be likeable tonight, knowledgable, personable, and on target. Don't let Kerry get away with one single lie. Or the moderator, either. GW has to take charge right from the opening gun.

I have just about decided that regardless of the performances of our president, the MSM will spin it as at best a tie and probably a defeat. After a few days those sheeple who came away with a stronger opinion of Bush will be convinced that they really didn't see what they thought they saw. (Sigh)

So he was underprepped in debate one, now he's overprepped in debate three.

Get a grip!

He was out campaigning yesterday and Kerry took the day off to prepare.

I haven't heard anybody say that Kerry was overprepped.

It's all mirrors and smokescreens. The MSM will spin it as a loss, so prepare yourself.

I just finished reading Lowry's article about why debate 2 was a bomb in the polls for Bush. We thought he did great, the electorate evidently thought he was too agressive.

The poor man can't get a break! We need to finish the debates, they'll be spun, polls will move up and down, and the only poll that counts is on election day.

I think it is a case of the media trying to paint an upprepaired contender. The local station down here KFYI 550 am in phx has been tracking Bush most of the day they have a person at the hotel where he was at the traffic copter as close as they can get it, and lots of reporters checking in with both the Kerry and Bush campaigns. I have not heard them mentioning anything about Bush similar to this. The media is just trying to tip the scales Kerry's way. But if you look at the Media reports after the first two debates. Some saying that Kerry won both, but yet in Rassmussens polls he still trails Bush. If the american public really thought Kerry's performance was that good. I think we would have seen vastly different poll #'s. Same with this evening. If Kerry were to win logic would dictate that we would see a jump in the poles the end of this week and begining of next.
