Correct, he didn't "out her" in that sense, just aimed to make sure it was known as far and wide as possible. Why? Not for any noble reason. To hurt the Cheneys.
Period.
Defend that.

We obviously come from different places, figuratively and literally. Where I come from, you don't bring family into discussions. When you do, more often than not, you get smacked in the mouth.
Lynne Cheney took offense. I think her opinion carries more weight than yours.

Kerry didn't "out" Mary Cheney. She's been out for some time...True.
What Kerry did do was prove he is arrogant enough to think he read another person's thoughts and that he can tell them to a world-wide audience.
His major mistake was speaking publicly for another person.

Her being gay has nothing to do with it. That's where you don't understand. I don't care if it's Chelsea Clinton, the Kerry daughters, the Bush twins, or Cheney's kids. Leave the kids the hell out of the political barbs! Whether you agree with them or not, where I come from, I consider it verboten.

But she works for his campaign. I think that makes her a valid example. I'd have no problem with Bush bringing up Vanessa Kerry...she works for Kerry's campaign.Well, we're at odds on the issue.
