All veterans are invited to join local Vietnam veterans on Marietta Square each Friday until the election from 11am till 2pm for Operation Street Corner, an attempt to educate local citizens about John Kerry's post-Vietnam anti-military, anti-American activities. We have the display, you bring yourself!

Tomorrow, Oct. 15, will be our first time out, and we need all the support we can get. Atlanta area, head north on 41 and take a left at the Big Chicken. See you on the square!

Used to live in Marietta. When we first moved there and were looking for houses we kept seeing directions "left at the Big Chicken". We pulled over to a gas station to ask what that was and got laughed out of the place. Drove a few more blocks and figured it out for ourselves!!! Good luck you guys!

I was in Marietta a few years ago, visiting Kennesaw Mtn battlefield nearby.

I don't remember the Big Red Chicken.

I wish I had seen it.

I have a bit of criticism here. I'm all for what your doing and I think it's an important effort. That being said, Cobb county is like the most conservative county in America.

Why don't you guys come down to Little Five Points (where I live) There are constantly Kerry supporters down there and it sickens me, it'd be awesome to see you guys come down and do the street corner thing there.

If your goal is to educate and convince people to vote for Bush over Kerry shouldn't you go to areas where Bush could use the support.

It was reported that at the last meeting of the Vietnam Heli. Pilots Assoc., held near you at Manuel's Tavern, heard several of the guys had their cars (decked out in Kerry Lied bumper stickers) spit on -- one man out walking with his toddlers was spotted doing just that in front of his children. Not sure you can change any of those minds.

You can find parking on the square or sometimes I head to the baptist church parking lot, just north of the square.

I used to make it a point to visit El Pollo Grande at least once a year (along with The Varsity and that Japanese restaurant in Marietta next to the Tomato Grocery). Not only is the Big Chicken a big, chicken-shaped building, but the eyes roll and the beak opens and closes as well. What's not to love?
