Some other items:
Wu 58%, Ameri 36%
Measure 34 (Tillamook Forest lockup): Yes 39%, No 27%
Measure 36 (Preserve Traditional Marriage): Yes 57%, No 36%
an observation: I saw a lot of young people, married couples with babies, long haired hippy types, leathers with ear rings, middle aged ladies with tattoos, aged ranchers with canes, little old ladies with sunbrellas,
young cowboys with chaw and hats, budding young ladies that would take your breath away (youth is wasted on the young) and they all had one thing in common.....They all love WU. They all screamed, yelled, waved, clapped, jumped up and down and generally made a spectacle of themselves and no body cared. We were all doing the same thing. Bush has a common message that is reaching everyone and the people are listening, learning, reacting, and will be voting..........Kerry is gone like a deflated ballon; there was nothing there to begine with.
Thanks Matt.
Who really knows about polls. I got a call today from a Democratic site and told them I was voting for Ralph Nader just to throw them off!
LOL.
yup Owl is good :) thats why ya always carry a shovel with your gun round these parts.
Also want to add that your state has the friendliest, kindest-to-strangers folks I've ever met!
#2 son has just moved there to go to grad school, and he loves it too.
Oregon has a real opportunity to turn red this year. It isn't certain, but it was close in 2000. With gay marriage on the ballot, and absentees arriving this week, Bush could benefit from the negativity surrounding Kerry after the debate.
WA, not so likely to turn red. I have to settle for cheering for our 'cousin'. LOL
God, I hope this is true. Please Jesus, this needs to happen.
Yep, owl is down right tasty.....don't really need a shovel for those little fellows, have you ever heard of a feather bed?????
hehe dont like pluckin em smash their heads in throw em in hole.
I was there. How many other people were? I haven't heard.
You forgot Ashland.
You know Kit, when I heard this today, I almost fainted with joy!!! I am just praying that people are coming to their senses here. Actually, I didn't hear anyone say "Only three more weeks and we will have a new President" today. We have quite a few Bush/Cheney signs here and a scattering of sKerry/backwards signs, that is why I was so shocked to find myself surrounded by liberals at my volunteer job. Maybe they are changing their minds :-)
I don't think we can be made to be complacent at this point.
Everyone who has done anything at all up til now: donate/phone/Party for the President in my area just got their 72 Hr training notification. An oversize 4-color slick card stock announcement, an email and an automated phone call for me so far. I donated on some credit cards that have variations of my name and those variations got a seperate card mailing.
The campaign has rented a large space for the training, much larger than GOP HQ, which we have used up til now. Also, just saw a clip of Dubyah from today's rally and he is exhorting everyone to volunteer and turn out the vote.
No good poll will depress the vote. In fact, I'd say just the opposite.
If you live in a safe state or a rat state, think about taking time off and going to a neighboring battleground to work. It will probably be phone banks, but you'll be busy for the best reasons and also you will be with energized Republicans. It will beat biting your nails and obsessing on polls.
Working our County Fair this year was so much fun! I didn't expect to be busy and brought a book that I never had a chance to open in 6 hrs.
FReeper Oregon Rancher in his post said 18,000.
OBTW, thanks for your service! And please pass our thanks to your young sailor as well!
Thank you
You are doing great work out there, bev....affecting more opinions than you realize, I'm thinking. Don't let the lib hogwash you hear on the radio get you down!
18,000??? No wonder it took an hour and fifteen minutes just to get moving in the parking lot!!
You're welcome from us both.
