I haven't started a thread in months and months....but today SuzanneC walked me through it. I appreciate her patience, and wouldn't have imposed but I feel so strongly that Lawrence O'Donnell's outrageous anti-Christian comments on Scarborough Country should receive our attention.

That's a terrific letter. I'm going to fire off one myself. Lazy gal here too lazy to look up the e:mails for Joe and his boss (who is that?).
Anyone have those handy?
O'Donnell is pure evil. He's not even the type of creep like McAwful or Estrich where you can't stand them but sort of like to watch anyway. I have to change the channel when McDonnell mugs shows up on the screen.

I was the other person watching the Scarborough show last night.
O'Donnell gets especially heated when the subject is homosexuality. Can't imagine why ;)
Back in '00, O'Donnell viciously attacked Steve Forbes on Hardball for defending the Boy Scouts of America in its efforts to refuse homosexual troop leaders. His reason? Because Malcolm Forbes, Steve's father, was allegedly homosexual. O'Donnell would not stop beating Steve Forbes up over his father's alleged homosexuality. It was one of the most disgusting scenes I've ever seen on tv.
I wrote Matthews at the time and of course got no response, but soon thereafter stopped watching Hardball and MSNBC. Only in the past few weeks have I bothered to switch from time to time to MSNBC, to see what the other side is saying (their idea of Republicans is Pat Buchanan and Ron P. Reagan). When the elections pass, I'll go back to ignoring MSNBC, and doubt they'll be around for the '08 election.

I saw the show, and wrote the following to Joe:
Joe,
A theoretical atheist boldly states by faith God does not exist, whereas a practical atheist lives life as if there is no God. I have neither the ability or right to look into a man's heart, but I do his actions. Lawrence O'Donnell may identify himself as a Roman Catholic, but his obvious hatred for all Christianity identifies him as a practical atheist.

Your e-mail is great. I think MSNBC's e-mail lines are smoking after O'Donnells comments Thursday and Friday night. All of us "simple minded" believers were insulted by this man's ignorance and elitist attitude toward Christians. I'm ashamed that he had the affrontery to mention that he went to Catholic school.

Personally I don't think your words are strong enough. First, you nailed his performance last night except that you did not mention the constant smirk on this face which conveyed the message of all knowing jerk. Second, if you are familiar with Lawrence, then you should know that his behavior and opinions were completely predictable. In fact, when he was announced as the next guest on the show I almost turned the channel because I can barely stand to listen to him.
Beyond all that he is blatant (and this is typical of the most strident liberals) hypocrite. He defended Clinton to the end with regard to the Lewinsky affair. His main reasoning was that this had no business being discussed because it was a personal matter. I guess the same standard does not apply when it comes to the private family of Dick Cheney (fair game is what he called Kerry's calculated remarks).

Had the same experience with Hardball. Matthews fills the show with Liberal views (he does the same thing on his Sunday show). I wrote him a few times to complain and I never get a response. His consistent low ratings give me solace that most folks feel like you and I.

Great letter and I will send one as well.
I happend to catch him one day last week and he had my blood boiling within seconds. It's obvious Buchanan answers to the powers that be at MSNBC or he would have verbally slapped him up one side and down the other. Isn't O'Donnell a writer or producer of West Wing? I know he plays some role which explains his nastiness having rubbed shoulders with Sheen and that liberal group.

I love O'Donnell. I really do, he is completely and totally unaware that he is the poster child for how FAR out of touch the left is with many Americans. He is also the poster child for arrogance as he sits up there and announces how it is Bush who is out of touch when it comes to faith. O'Donnell is exactly who Bernie Goldberg is referencing in his books, namely, the arrogant elitist.
What is amusing to watch is the tortured look on O'Donnell's face when his bias does not match reality. For example, O'Donnell was trying to paint Kerry's lesbian moment as a great, not just good, but great thing for Kerry.

I must have been the third one watching. O'Connell is just another smart mouthed smerking liberal. Joe should not be giving him a platform. If Joe keeps it up he should not have a platform.
I thought there was hope for Joe Scarborough but he has becoming part of the MSM.
