Malzberg interviews Thomas Lipscomb on Kerry Discharge: Coming up at 10 am ET
Steve Malzberg show | Oct 17, 2004

Posted on 10/17/2004 6:43:39 AM PDT by Mike Fieschko

Lipscomb's latest piece examining Kerry's Navy service appeared in the New York Sun and the Jewish World Review.

John O'Neil of SBVT issued a press release after the Nightline show this past week, the last paragraph of which contiained this teaser:

"Further, one has to wonder why ABC News will not address the serious questions as to why John Kerry only received an honorable discharge through the act of then President Carter, seven years after his discharge, and had to have all of his military citations reissued, on the same day, when he became a United States Senator in 1985. ..."

John Kerry refuses to release his Form 180 and this may be why - he didn't receive an Honorable Discharge until Jimmy Carter interceded for him.

We need to get the Republican Congressmen to go after this... If there are serious questions in Kerrys discharge they must be brought before the public before election day... The Press isn't doing their job.

sec of the navy at the time J Warner cannot confirm nor deny that JK has rec'd a less than honorable discharge. Carter amnesty may have granted amnesty to up to 30k of those who got dishonorable discharges and JK may have gotten one from Kerry after receiving a less than honorable discharge prior to the Carter amnesty

Now honourable discharge document. It is only a cover letter. Dated in the Carter administration 6 years later reviewed by a board of officers which is unusual.

It is a circumstantial case. 2 possibilities...

1. Could have got it because of a reduction in force.
2. Strange series of circumstances. Nixon out to get Kerry. Kerry did things in violation of USMC and civil code. Warner (who worked with Nixon) would neither confirm or deny Kerry got a Honourable Discharge. Colson refused to answer any questions. Possible that this document was produced as a result of the Carter amnesty, which covered 30,000 people. Could be a scrubbing of Kerry's papers.

There is a major effort by to find proof of this. It is also in the National Security Records.

Missing documents from the Kerry website...

DD214 is missing 2 pages, and the cover letter is missing a honorable discharge document.

I suspect that there is something funny going on. Why wouldn't Kerry just post his honorable discharge document with the cover letter, unless there was something to hide?

Missed the interview, What happened? My bet is same old same old.

Everything else in politics today is leaked, wish some clerk would get Kerry discharge info into the right hands.

After the election is too late.

Why wouldn't John Warner speak up? He's a Republican for cripe's sake. He can help ensure the re-election of a Republican president. What loyalty does he have to Kerry when Kerry has none for anyone?

Nothing new, AFAICT, just a review of the article in the Sun and JWR.

I saw someone posting a comment about Warner on the SBVT forum. Why would Warner have undisclosed / inside info?

Warner was the Sec of the Navy under Nixon, no? I may be wrong about this but he was definitely involved in the DoD during Nixon.
I've gotten the impression from various sources that Warner would be in the know about Kerry's military affairs in the 70's.

He was Under Secretary from 1969 to 1972, then Secretary from 1972 to 1974.

I don't know how involved or informed he was at that time about Kerry's actions.

I agree. Warner knows the truth and refuses to tell us. Is it because of the Senators Club?
