For the record, that photo was taken at the Olympics when the flag from the WTC was brought in.

It was a poignant moment and revealed the depth and character of the President.

Tbose who are trashing your rendition of it here must not have been familiar with the original photo, (and some are clearly ignoring it now).

I think if you put the flag back on and take off the cross, I think it would be better.

I had the advantage (or disadvantage) of knowing what was going on in that picture, and how poignant a moment it was, so the comments from those who didn't and slammed it, took me by surprise.

I hope that all the critics who now know the story, and have seen the original picture understand what Linda was trying to do.

Okay it is a photo off the internet. It is the property of the person who took it or the entity that bought the rights to it. According to copyright law, you or I can print a couple of copies for our private use but we cannot make many copies and distribute them and encourage people to make copies of them and put them on brochures and on their web sites. And we cannot prepare derivative works from them and allow widespread distribution of such works even for free. It's stealing. I presume the lady who did this fine artwork does not know that. And I am saying someone who knows her should tell her not to do it anymore because it seems like she is a good Christan and would not want to steal. And I mean that as a fellow artist and only in a spirit of helpfulness. She should study a little bit about artists rights and copyright law.

An artist must have a thick skin. You put something out there and you take your chances. That's how you learn!!

Any artist or aspiring artist ought to take copyright law seriously especially as regards to preparing derivative works for spreading around on the internet. It is for your own good. For one thing it forces you to be original. You may copy another artists idea, but not the expression of that idea.
