It is a good rendering of the original photo. However, I think the lines around his lips are a bit too pronounced in the drawing. (That's why it reminded me of Yoda!) If you touch that up, I think it might solve the problem. Perhaps adding a tear would help convey the true emotion he is expressing here.

I explained why he was making that face .. and the thread - if you'd bother to look - has several postings of the original picture showing the President's face was clearly stained with tears.

Also it is a violation of copyright to prepare a derivative work from some else's work. Unless the artist who worked on the picture was the same one who took the original photograph, he or she is in violation of the law. Given he or she is telling people to feel free to use it he really in violation and is stealing which is unChristian.

Now I know what bothers me about the pic. It looks a lot like one of those Saddam Hussein murals that used to grace every other building in Iraq. I'm just being honest. I'm in no way trying to be hurtful toward the artist.

Whoever knows this artist ought to tell her she is violating the copyright act. It makes no difference if she is not making any money. Unless she took the photograph or got permission to use from the owner of the photograph she is violating the copyright law.

Without the context it is easily construed to look like..."here's a guy who is bound and determined to impose his faith on everybody else." That is exactly what it would look like to a person of no faith.

I did bother to look. First original pic posted at 1:30. I posted at 1:33 - I didn't see it. Sue me.

Secondly, if you have to 'explain' why he looks constipated then perhaps the graphic needs more work or less editing.

The photo is not offensive. The artwork is not offensive. But it is pulled out of context. It just looks like a man who is bound and determined to impose his faith on others...because it has been pulled out of context out of it's real time and place and given another context.

As an artist who has done commercial work (not much but I have an instinct for these things) I have to say...great artwork, bad interpretation, and probable copyright violation. Inappropriate message. Easily misconstrued.
