I turned on local news midway through a report about a possible leak in the pipeline. It was stated that the governor was monitoring the situation and that Phoenix had a "several day" supply of gas.
Anyone hear about this?
Eco-terrorists (aka RATs) trying to affect the election this year? Nah! {/sarcasm}
If this is true it could spell disaster for the Bush campaign in Arizona and Nevada. $3+ a gallon gas could cause trouble for Bush even though the educated among us know that it is liberals like Kerry that have reduced our production capacity.
Not so.
I'm in Clark County - where are you?
We have been used to paying 20 - 30% above what anybody else pays for years.
I can attest to the price gouge since 1983 - you?
Someone sneezes / coughs the wrong way / has a bad hair day......
and the price of gas in Las Vegas goes up.
LVM
I'm in Reno. Probably worse for us up here. But, remember last time the pipeline in AZ burst? Gas shot up more than 30-40%. There were actually stations up here that ran out of gas. It doesn't matter if we are used to high gas prices; if it spikes to $3 a gallon (or more) we are in trouble.
Great, there better not be one, last time stunk.
ping! better gas up the car.
If this story gets going, even as an unsubstantiated rumor, the "several day" supply of gas will be gone in several hours.
headline indicates someone tried to break into a pipeline, like a thief breaking into a house or business.
Is this the "how to tap a line" memo/lesson?????
If this is true California will have $4.00 gal,

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "One of two gasoline-supply lines into metro Phoenix has been shut down while workers examine and repair possible damage caused by a train derailment on Wednesday morning near Fontana, Calif.
Immediate shortages are not expected, and pipeline operator Kinder Morgan Energy Partners has a plan to reopen the pipeline by Friday night. But company officials caution it could take longer."
