BUSH: 271 Electoral Votes 153 solid, 88 likely, 44 iffy

KERRY: 267 Electoral Votes 174 solid, 53 likely, 26 iffy

Analysis Oct. 21, noon ET: Big lift for Bush in this morning's polls. He's safer in West Virginia, he's in better position to take Ohio, he's in good position to take New Hampshire, and he has taken Wisconsin outright. He loses one electoral vote in Maine, but the 10 from Wisconsin bump him up from 261 to 271, giving him the election.

Oh, good. Now I don't have to worry about voting. (/sarcasm)

don't you love how down they sound as they write about Wisconsin moving out of reach? I had just looked at the page and wondered if it would get up...thanks.

Bush wins, even though they give OH to Kerry. Bush needs OH to put this away.

The article says that Bush is in good position to take NH, but then their chart says NH is "iffy" for Kerry.

The Leftists have a script that this is a tight race, but Bush wins.

We think Bush will win, but by a wide margin (8 pts).

Time will tell.

I don't think they've updated their colors.

They don't have Wisconsin colored as solid Bush.

The left has to make it look like it's going to be close so they can pull some crap about Bush stealing it. I don't think it's going to be close.

I hope it's such a 'landslide' that the RATS wouldn't be able to cheat their way out of a wet paper bag!

***...As many as 10 states are tossups and a dozen more in contention, including two traditionally Democratic states in which Kerry is clinging to single-digit leads New Jersey and Hawaii. Bush is fighting for his political life in two electoral-rich states he won in 2000 Florida and Ohio...***

The Slate map has New Jersey as solid Kerry.

I don't think they're right on this. A very bad job of reporting.

Heard a radio report today on WJR in Detroit citing an unknown pollster from Lansing. He had Bush up 47-43 IN MICHIGAN! I don't think I'd bet the farm but it is an encouraging note and encouragement gets out the voters.

That unknown pollster, Mitchell, nailed the 2000 election. They had the exact percentage Gore and Bush in Michigan. If Michigan was so lock up for Kerry why is he bothering to show up here Friday? Makes you wonder if this poll isn't closer to what the Dem's polls are saying also.
