Video Tape, Donation Records Reveal More Daschle Ties to Pro-Abortion Groups

SIOUX FALLS – The Ave Maria List, along with South Dakotans from across the state, have called on Tom Daschle to formally end his financial relationship with EMILY’s List, and release the remainder of the video tape of Daschle addressing an EMILY’s List fundraiser.

According to FEC records, Tom Daschle’s PAC has sent five checks totaling $10,000 to EMILY’s List, which the Boston Globe called the “abortion rights mega-PAC.” Additionally, EMILY’s List donated $5,000 to Tom Daschle’s PAC and Ellen Malcolm, founder and president of EMILY’s List has donated $1,000 to Tom Daschle’s PAC.

“Tom Daschle has given money and received money from a pro-abortion PAC, yet he still tries to tell South Dakotans he’s anti-abortion,” said Joseph Cella, executive director of the Ave Maria List.

Sharon Gray, from Vermillion, South Dakota, said that: “Tom Daschle’s financial relationship with NARAL and now EMILY’s List, coupled with his record of pro-abortion votes, proves irrefutably he has changed his position on abortion.”

“I once supported Tom Daschle because I believed the letter that he sent to South Dakotans where he called abortion an ‘abhorrent practice,’” said Sharon Gray. “But since then, Tom Daschle has voted for abortion 75 out of 83 times, and even raises money for several pro-abortion organizations, including NARAL, and now EMILY’s List. We call upon Tom Daschle to return all the money that he received from EMILY’s List, and to request EMILY’s List to return the money he has given them.”

On the matter of the videotape, Cella said: “Tom Daschle is clearly trying to hide his record on abortion from South Dakota citizens. Why else would he pull it down from his webpage?”

Lakota Sioux Tribal member, Jeanne Faber said “Native Americans suffer from the highest abortion rate in South Dakota, and Tom Daschle’s votes have perpetuated this latest tragedy to affect our people.”

Cella added: “Tom Daschle’s votes, leadership, and words show that he has dramatically changed on this issue that was once important to him. South Dakotans will be stunned to see the evidence of how much Tom Daschle is deceiving them.”

The Ave Maria List is a 501c4 organization with a connected political action committee.

And to think I used to work in the gold mines in Lead, S.D. while Dasshole was a senator there! Ugh!

Pretty bad when the Indians see Dasshole with forked tongue! ROTFLMAO

Well, looks like not all of the Sioux nation will be voting for the leftist rats this time around. That's a good thing...

I can't believe anybody still thinks Daschle is pro-life.

He votes pro-abortion, he campaigns with pro-abortionists, and he hangs with Emily's List, the international feminist home of baby killers.

He can't be anything else but anti-life.

Welcome Dasher! I see you follow US politics...

he hangs with Emily's List, the international feminist home of baby killers.

I thought this group was just a US plague...they have them in Australia, too?

"Native Americans suffer from the highest abortion rate in South Dakota, and Tom Daschle’s votes have perpetuated this latest tragedy to affect our people.”

Let me just challenge the "victim mentality" at work here:
unlike some other tragedies that have "affected" her people, this one is self-inflicted.

Nobody goes around imposing abortions on unwilling Indians.

While I agree with the first part you said, in that it IS a "Victim Mentality" one also needs to consider that after generations of government-run schools and government-run health care programs, the "willingness" is merely being brainwashed into believing it's the right thing to do.

However, I have to take issue with the second part you wrote: Nobody goes around imposing abortions on unwilling Indians. because it's not true, or at least it's not true today. Do youself a favour and take a good close look at Margaret Sanger, and her Eugenics program that morphed into the modern day "Planned Parenthood". An attempt at genocide against anyone not of pure White European Stock - I have relatives who were not only forced into abortions, but were also then sterilized without their knowledge by left-wingers who thought that members of my family didn't deserve to breed because they were not white.

No, no one is forcing indians to get abortions, but the sad fact is that the large number of abortions that are encouraged by the liberals are just another painful reminder of an attempted "Final Solution" that was tried here in America in the 1930s and later - made into law in some states that were not even taken off the books until the 1980s in Vermont, for example.

I don't blame her for complaining about it and speaking out against it. Not one bit.

What tribe did your people come from? My daughter-in-law is a Tlingit from the Yukon and her mother and other Tlingits were removed from their tribe by well-meaning missionaries and forced to attend school elsewhere. Other things went on, I'm sure.

Ah yes, the infamous Bording Schools - Children of Indians were often forcibly taken from their parents. If they were light-skinned enough to pass for whites, they were often placed with white parents. If they were too dark, they got sent to the boarding schools and where they were treated horribly. A good example would be one of the Navajo Code talkers who told about his boarding school experience where he was chained to a radiator whenever he dared speak his language...

Anyway, I'm just glad that kind of crap isn't tolerated anymore...

My family is Mohawk, Mic Mac, and Blackfoot...

We're right near the Oneida Indian Nation. There are Mohawks (after all, we live by the Mohawk Valley!) in our history and also in Canada. One Mohawk has a Christian Bible College for Native students in Canada. We have supported that school. He's been to our Christian school with some of the students as well. Ross Maracle is his name. Mohawks are also very sure footed and work on the high buildings, as he demonstrated. Yes, they were all treated quite badly and ignorantly. M

A lot of people do not realize that Mohawks have worked on almost every major high steel project in the U.S. and Canada... Of course, that meant traveling a lot and sending money back to teh 'rez, but it was work ;0)

Sadly so.

It's very powerful in our Labor Party (Labor=Dem).

It's now almost impossible for a pro-lifer in the Labor Party to gain nomination to anything. Labor in Australia is probably more pro-baby killing than the Dems in the US. I'm sure its founders must be spinning in their graves!

BTW, thank you for your welcome. Much appreciated, but can you explain this "ping" thing that everyone's going on about. Thanks.
