"Dude, I'm deep into yer EMA#8, 'dru...you've outdone yerself regarding yer selctions, I'll be absorbing these CD's fer weeks..."

Excellent.
Were *engineered* to provoke thought...all kinds of thought.
Sounds like I hit a bullseye with you, which in all honesty I knew they would. {~K went ballistic over 'em, too :o) }
Many of the cuts I selected with you in mind, would ya believe?

"...but I can tell you I like Stevie Wonder's "Big Brother", the Talking Heads' "Democratic Circus", and Commando Cody's "Seeds and Stems"..."

They are unique, aren't they?
Even though many are at or over 30 years old, I find it amazing how little things have changed makeing the various messages ageless.
Only our POV changes.

Put K on a jet to Brewtown this morning after a wonderful & long 4 day weekend.
That'll be over as we close on the new place Dec 10th and will be moved shortly thereafter.

Of course we were *at* the polling place when it opened to vote and went out for a good ol' country breakfast, afterwards.
Heavy turnout here on the Mason-Dixon, bud...had a 40 minute wait which is amazing for the area I live.
Yup, people were turning out in droves, in the rain, to send a message of their own.

Exactly *what* that message is?

...will tell all the whole story.

STEVIE WONDER's "Big Brother"

Your name is big brother
You say that you're watching me on the tele,
Seeing me go nowhere,
Your name is big brother,
You say that you're tired of me protesting,
Children dying everyday,
My name is nobody
But I can't wait to see your face inside my door

Your name is big brother
You say that you got me all in your notebook,
Writing it down everyday,
Your name is I'll see ya,
I'll change if you vote me in as the pres,
The President of your soul
I live in the ghetto,
You just come to visit me 'round election time

I live in the ghetto,
Someday I will move on my feet to the other side,
My name is secluded,
we live in a house the size of a matchbox,
Roaches live with us wall to wall,

You've killed all our leaders,
I don't even have to do nothin' to you
You'll cause your own country to fall

"Where do you stand on selling yer Indianny house?"

Have a couple of pretty good prospects, but as of now no *offer*.
Seems people would make a move IF their place -- where ever -- were to sell, so they're waiting.

I can relate since I *really* didn't want to assume 2 mortgages, myself.
Still, the place we bought would never have lasted had there been even one open house.
Had it not been for the fact our realtor in WI is the *listing* agent we might not have got to it in time, as it is.

I'm not going to worry about things I can't control, be it personal finances or politics, Mud.
Ain't healthy.

Besides, it's only money.

...& I sure can't take it with me. :^)

"GOP Boosts Senate Majority!!"

"By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent

WASHINGTON - Republicans tightened their grip on the Senate early Wednesday, capturing a string of Democratic seats across the South. Democratic leader Tom Daschle struggled for political survival in South Dakota.

[snip]

But the GOP did most of the celebrating by far, capturing Democratic open seats in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisiana — where Rep. David Vitter became the first Republican since Reconstruction to win a term in the Senate.

"We ran as a team," said Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record) of Virginia, chairman of the GOP senatorial committee. He referred to Republicans who ran for open seats across the South and West, campaigning as allies of President Bush in states where Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry had little or no campaign presence. "It looks like we're going to have a much strengthened Republican majority," Allen predicted. Exactly how much depended on the outcome of races still unsettled in Florida, Colorado, Alaska and South Dakota."

Very impressive performance by Senator Allen...gotta believe this doesn't hurt his aspirations fer national office...MUD

"Democratic leader Tom Daschle struggled for political survival in South Dakota."

Ummm, the "struggle's" over.
The 'Rat Terrier of American politics has been put outa his *misery*; and, so now the question becomes: can it get any sweeter than that?

I know-I know.

...we're *all* deeply saddened. :o)

Just finished IM'ing with a dem friend in Delaware.....he thinks Kerry will concede at either noon or in primetime....when I said Kerry should have conceded last night his response was:

nah. It's good they've kept it going...the tact should be concede and ask unity and support for what's a difficult situation we'd rather not be in, but we are in and need to solve.

That of course would be the gentlemanly thing to do, and kerry is no gentleman.

My friend quickly changed the subject to the Gov's race. LOL!

Well, having worked for him, I do get a little defensive when folks trash Senator Allen. Specially when Republicans do it.

But you're right.

And, beer is good.

Yeah. The two fulla crap Johns could pull the flush lever on their campaign, instead of opposing what is clearly a Bush victory in Ohio.

I mean, I'm confused... have the democrats forgotten their 2000 rants? It seems that the popular vote is (to them) what elects the President. Mottos like "Beat Bush Again" and "Let's not elect Bush in 2004 either!" etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseum.

WELL...President Bush beat Senator Kerry by well over 3,000,000 votes... yet the Democrat machine inside and outside of the Kerry campaign vows to fight on for the elctoral vote in Ohio.

This party has a memory problem.

"That of course would be the gentlemanly thing to do, and kerry is no gentleman."

Par Gabz.
No one in the entire wing of the American Liberal-Socialist Party is civilized.
Actually, this is ne of the rare times the 'Rats will be on record as being consistent. {g}

"My friend quickly changed the subject to the Gov's race. LOL!"

I'll bet he does; moreover, I'd bet you'll let 'em off the hook whatwith your being the class act you are. {*Mud, you're the *judge* on bets, now}

Now as for the 'Rats I know?
I'm afraid I won't be nearly as *merciful*.
The needling will start with the clown living across the street who, was *observed* slinking outa the neighborhood at the ungodly hour of 5:30, going real slow as he passed my house.

But the big one I'm looking forward to skewering is my *Father-in-Law*.

Yesssss.

...I'll bet'cha my bride can't wait for it, too. :o)

HA!!

Yea but think of it this way, the guy's gonna be doubly-galled if you do and do so with a big, fat smile.

Why?

Because you'll really mean it.

...& 'Rats so hate joy. {g}

Their memory problem's even more troublesome than they realize if you consider one thing.

That 3x106 margin of victory?

...might've been inspired by their shenanagan in Y2K.

Heh...for me it's my stepfather. He's a Goldwater Republican turned Jesse Jackson lib'ral (he joined the unions).

I won't have to say much. I'll just send him my copy of "Unfit for Command."

'Course he's had two quadruple bypasses...
