Hey, I really like that idea! And on All Saints Day, no less.
I'll be doing it.

That sounds like a line from Fiddler on the Roof...LOL! You have a good sense of humor. No, it's just the Gospel according to Bucko. A mixture of homilies and Christ's admonition to the Pharisees' regarding ones duty to earthly emergencies, such as one's donkey in a ditch on the Sabbath. There are earthly duties that some time take precedent ahead of religious activities, lest we begin to fast and pray to Allah. I consider voting to be a form of prayer and a duty we owe not only to our country and to those who sacrificed to protect this right, but to God, from where the right to vote comes.
Regards, Buck.

I'll try. I've never fasted before but it has been on my heart for two weeks now to attempt this. I have, nevertheless, been in prayer about the events to come.
To: SpookBrat
First time I fasted was for a day...thought I was gonna die...most of the battle however is in the mind, considering that your body generally has plenty of body fat stored up to get you through a day. Just be sure to drink plenty of water.

I have been fasting from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM, praying in corporate prayer at church from 6:00 AM until 7:00 AM and plan on a 24 hour fast from 6:00 AM on Monday until 6:00 AM on Tuesday. We will go as a family to church at 6:00 AM on Tuesday for an hour of prayer, then to the polls and then to Cracker Barrel for a celebratory breakfast.

Just be sure to drink plenty of water.Well, at such a time, the body expects to run on carbs and the pancreas fires off insulin, which helps to make people hungry, edgy, perhaps headachey, lethargic, etc.
That's why the Atkins Diet works. It gets the insulin levels down, with its reduced carbs -- that takes over a day to kick in. It brings down one's appetite.
