BEIJING: State oil giant Sinopec Group has signed a $70 billion oil field development and liquefied natural gas agreement with Iran, China's biggest energy deal with the No. 2 OPEC producer, an Iranian official said Friday.
The preliminary deal may yield political benefits far sooner than commercial ones as Iran courts China's favor on the UN Security Council, where Beijing holds a potential veto over any action against the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed Thursday, China's second-largest oil firm, Sinopec Group, will buy 250 million tons of LNG over 30 years from Iran and develop the giant Yadavaran field, said Seyed Mehdi Hosseini, deputy general manager of the National Iranian Oil Company.

FYI...not good news.
Sorry, but this doesn't pass my global test.
India & Japan are also heavily dependent on Iranian oil,but it probably won't mean those 2 will stick their heads out for Iran fully.Besides Iran's conventional military forces have not had access to top of the line Russian or Chinese weaponry-the only thing to worry about is their non-conventional(which no one has a concrete idea about) & terrorist infrastructure.

somewhat predictable. Last week Iran announced pipeline connecting the two countries to ship oil east to china. The Iranian's are not dumb, they know the way to get their nukes is to bribe the chinese, pay off the russians for the new reactor, and then just continue to ignore the british,french, german iniative on uranium enrichement. Where will this leave the US? It will leave us as the ones who once again have to play global cop and either we, or the israelis will have to deal with both the reactor and uranium enrichment/nuke weapons sites.
Looks like the revolution is going to have to kick up a notch.
The deal is with the mullahs, not the people.
China is gonna be left holding the bag. Israel is going to take care of Iran for us (and themselves). Then China can deal with a free Iran. If we have to kick Chinese butt, so be it. There may be a lot of them, but we're *still* The Good Guys and will win. Eventually. At a huge cost. But *We Will Win*.
Exactly...the people of Iran are going to have to act soon...and we will need to support them before the ChiComms get too entrenched with resources to keep the mullahs in power.

Exaclty...the processing of uranium and development of weapons needs to be stopped post haste. Things are starting to move as alliances and sides are solidified (that I believe have been building for a long time specifically to confront us).

FYI...the revolution needs to kcik in before the Red Chinese get too entrenched.
It is very likely that Israel will take out the nuclear development facilities. If they do, and the Chinese are entrenched enough...things could move quickly.
Maybe now people will see the value in lowering the value of the American dollar, since China owns so much of it.
On the other side of the coin, maybe China can participate a bit more in the thankless job of keeping the oil shipping lanes open, a thankless job that the USA has been doing almost entirely on it's own, for the benifit of China and Japan and Europe, who are far more dependant on middle east oil than North America is, and they are becomming more so with each passing year.
