Use Your Cellphones To Help Re-Elect Bush---NOW (MUST READ!!!)
Self | November 1, 2004 | PJ-Comix

I found out something VERY IMPORTANT today. You can use your cellphone to help re-elect Bush.

Here is what happened. Like many of you, I was suffering the election jitters due to the seesawing polls. So this afternoon I took a walk to work off the tension. While doing so, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh on my portable radio. Anyway, Rush was doing an interview with Gov. Jeb Bush and Rush mentioned that a lot of Republicans haven't gotten phone calls yet from GOP workers to go vote. At that point, Jeb mentioned that regular folks could simply call the folks from their cellphone caller list and urge them to vote for Bush. I stopped in mid-step at that thought and whipped out my cellphone and immediately starting making calls from my caller list before the radio interview was even over.

GUESS WHAT??? I got great results right away! First I called Barbara who is completely apathetic when it comes to politics. I figured that I could talk her into voting. Well, it turned out that for the FIRST TIME Barbara will be voting tomorrow but she told me she was voting for Kerry for no other reason than a co-worker asked her to. I then reminded her that Osama Bin Laden wanted Florida (where I live) to vote for Kerry because he threatened states that voted for Bush in his tape released last week. I begged Barbara NOT to give that terrorist the satisfaction of a Kerry victory. That was enough for Barbara. The GOOD NEWS is that she promised me that she will be voting for BUSH tomorrow. (I will still call her tomorrow to make sure she is voting).

Next I called Sophia. It turns out she is a Republican but just needed a reminder to vote since politics isn't that important to her.---ANOTHER VOTE FOR BUSH!!! (I still will call her again tomorrow to make sure she votes and not procrastinate.)

There were just the first two people I called. After that I got really excited and called other folks on my cell phone caller list with really great results. Best of all, most of the folks on my cellphone list live here in Florida, an important battleground state.

I therefore strongly URGE all of you to do the same. Not only will it help relieve your election jitters because you are doing something useful but I really think this could really help Bush tomorrow. Even if you know committed people who will definitely vote for Bush tomorrow, call them as well so they can do the same as you (and me) by calling the names of people on their cellphone call list.

Remember, this is probably the MOST IMPORTANT election of our lifetime. The future of our nation is at stake. The volunteer Minutemen put their actual lives on the line. The biggest risk you will be facing is a slight sprain of your dialing finger. Don't sit around and just wait for the election results. PLEASE make a positive impact on the election results by calling your friends on your cellphone call list.

I mentioned what happened with the first two people I called today. Go ahead and post on this thread what happened when you called folks on your cellphone call list. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the positive results. Oh, and don't forget to encourage your like-minded friends to do the same and call folks on THEIR cellphone call list.

Way to go, PJ!!! That is awesome! All of my close friends are voting and I won't change their minds. But I've been talking to all my neighbors and other moms at school here in Bucks County, PA. I think we have a ton of security moms that are not showing up in the polls. We are all voting for Bush-Cheney! I have talked to at least four here that voted for Gore in 2000 but are voting for Bush this time.

GREAT! And Michigan is a battleground state. Remember, folks, don't just allow things to happen in this election. YOU can affect the election results with your cellphones. LETS ROLL!!!

GOOD WORK!
I haven't called people on my cellphone list BUT: I'm a stay home parent, and most of my neighbors either work fulltime with kids or are retired/shut-in. After talking to my neighbor the other day, she commented on how she wasn't sure how she would vote because she has 4 rowdy kids and a husband that works an opposite shift and she didn't want to take them all to the poll with her so she said she wasn't voting this year and hoped Bush would win anyway. I offered to watch her kids so she would go and vote (for Bush). One of our neighbors is a senior citizen and not political at all....doesn't drive and is legally blind. I'm taking her to the poll tomorrow....she wants to vote for Bush and was sooo happy that someone would help her do that. Yes, she could have voted absentee...but some people are not able to fill out paperwork/open mail etc. If anyone has an older neighbor, don't assume he/she is voting absentee...ASK if they need help voting this year because the stakes are too high!!!

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh on my portable radio.

I THOUGHT that was you outside of my building.

Great post, BTW.

I already thought of this. I talked to a nice guy named Josh from the Florida Bush/Cheney campaign. He sent me 11 pages of phone #'s. I've started already, will be calling through tomorrow during work (I don't have much to do tomorrow, will mostly just be answering the phone)

I'm in a solidly Blue state (Washington), so I thought it would be more useful then calling people here.

And don't forget to ask your friends who are really strong for Bush to use their cellphones to help him as well. BTW, I ONLY ask them to vote for Bush. I don't try to press it by asking them to vote for other people or issues. Yeah, it would be great if they voted for Martinez for the Senate here in Florida but I don't want to "overstay" my welcome. I keep it focused strictly on voting for George W. Bush.

p.s. One advantage about this is that my tension really eased up after this morning because I am actually DOING something to affect the election instead of standing by like an Eloi and letting events just happen.

Freepmail me a number where I can call Josh. I would like to call some more phone #s.

PJ, I don't have anyone to convert here in my family (those that live in the US). But, here's a funny story for you.

I was called by the local Republican Women's Group today to get out my vote. The woman who called me was VERY surprised 1) that I was home, and 2) that I was SO enthusiastic about my support for GWB. She said "gosh I wish all of the people I was calling were as excited as you are!". HA!

Then, she secretly confessed that she was nervous about tomorrow, and thought that things didn't look good for the POTUS. So I riffed through about five up-to-the-minute polls that were linked right here at FR and she actually THANKED me for making HER day.

GOTV where you can...and remember: broken glass, people. Broken glass!

Remember, we are volunteers, just like the New Hampshire regiments that came off the farms (20,000 strong) to defeat the Brits before Saratoga. The Dems use mostly paid staffers (paid by the likes of George Soros, Peter Lewis and that Bing character in Hollywood) and forced labor from union members. They can't motivate nearly as many Americans to volunteer for them.

I asked zbigreddogz for a contact # from Josh in Florida for a list. Maybe you could do the same.

I have nationwide free long distance on my cell phone. If somebody has a list of numbers to call in a swing state, freepmail me and I'll do what I can.

I just called Josh and left my Fax number on his answering machine. Now I wont be suffering the tension so much tomorrow since I will actually have something to do that might affect the election (and remember how close it was in 2000 so every little bit helps).

I have nationwide free long distance on my cell phone.

Me too. I have MetroPCS (like about half of Broward County). However, I just want to work on Florida voters. BUT don't forget the other battleground states---especially Ohio.

Don't just stand by and let events happen tomorrow. MAKE them happen!
