Now that all of the weak-kneed have been taken out by the earlier phoney "exit polls," what do we know:
By every report, from EVERY STATE, the GOP get out the vote drive has been heavier than in 2000 and has hit all of its targets---in FL, OH, and PA.
We have a GOP Gov. of Indiana; GOP Senators in OK, NC, SC, GA.
Bush is polling ahead in FL among Hispanics; absentee votes for GOP are tought to be about 100,000 more than Dems; and the Republicans are ahead of their targets in almost every county. Dems are BEHIND theirs. The enemy gets a "vote." We have done all we can, and more. But I think it's plenty.
In fact, do not be surprised if the networks have to go back and "re-call" NEW JERSEY. They are now seeing their exit polls were crap.
Still looking good for a big win.
The entire Great Lakes region that has been contested - MN, MI, WI - are too close to call. First real good news of the night regarding Gore states.
Onward - -
I doubt NJ will be re-called. They probablly havent counted the votes from Newark and Trenton and the other Democrat strongholds..
This shows the "exit polls" are heavily biased towards Kerry, so if many battlleground states remain "too close to call" it probably means a Bush win.
I'm with ya bro. If you cut through all the chatter, Bush is looking good.
The nervous need to relax.
Jay Cost is also doing analysis of Florida...looks like Bush is picking up huge votes from his 2000 results...I believe if we win Ohio, we win the Presidency.
Bush has recovered most of his losses on tradesports, back to 45 now.
What about your beloved Ohio, Professor?
The talking heads are talking about all the polling data being skewed to Kerry now starting to look bogus!
Bush by 10 points.
Kerry will still probably win it, but it is not guaranteed. The whole key is which sections of the state are reporting. NJ is very balkanized into blue and red sections, with all areas leaning very strongly one way or the other.
Your right, if we win Ohio, PA. and Fl. it's a sure victory!
Just home from work. I'm with you bro. You gotta have faith and balls and I've got both.
Now, if the R's don't vote Bush, not much we can do. But I think they will.
Bush carries OH, and the election.
I have been saying for months now that OH and FL are the ballgame, assuming we can hold what we had in 2000 elsewhere. Even writing off NH, redistricting makes up for that. Forget everything else. If we can pull out OH and keep ahead in FL, we're home.
Say lots of prayers for the OH vote. It may turn on the job loss and Iraq issues. Bush hasn't effectively countered the 'Rat attacks on job losses, nor has he close the sale in Buckeyeland on the Iraq war. We're probably going to see a fraction of a point race with a few thousand votes (or less) deciding it sometime tomorrow.
I live in a "balkanized" county in NJ- (Hunterdon, Northwest NJ). All 4 of my family voted W today, including my formerly Dem sister, a 23 yr. old TEACHER! Lots and lots of W lawn signs out here in NW New Jersey- and BIG turnout. My dad voted at 6:45 am and was #65, in a very, very small, GOP strong town! Don't "Klown" NJ just yet, folks!
Drudge now has Ohio leaning Bush.
Final score?
Give'm all you've got Scotty.
