Koch showed class, and real guts, when he came out for Bush.
Bush had 40% of the New York state vote and he only had 35% in 2000. Koch probably contributed to that improvement.

"John Kerry and his running mate are two of only four Senators who voted for the Iraq War and then voted against $87 billion in funding to supply our troops with essential equipment like body armor and ammunition. Kerry talks about intelligence reform, but the reality is he missed 76 percent of public Senate Intelligence Committee hearings during his time on the panel. Kerry's willingness to say one thing and do another is making it impossible for him to maintain his credibility among Ohioans."

I grew up in North-East Ohio in Akron, very near Youngstown.
The impact of Youngstown's mayor was felt not just in Youngstown, but throughout Ohio, but especially in Summit, Stark, Cuyahoga and other Northeast Ohio counties. (Akron, Canton, Cleveland respectively).
Ohio was the key, and George McKelvey played a KEY role in the 2004 election.
It is so rare to see a democrat do what is in the best interest of the nation and act like a statesman.
We saw these four democrats do that, and the decent people of our nation thank you.
If anybody knows of other democrats who had a national impact in support of Bush-Cheney, please add to this thread and reference this post # so others will see the kudos given to these four honorable Americans.

He's a good man. God bless him. Democrats, I hear, used to be this kind of man. Hopefully, they will be again. I won't hold my breath but would welcome the same kind of man to join me in the fight.
