He supports country over party when the chips are down. He's a true member of the loyal opposition.
Howmidoing Bump
How's he doing? Pretty good, IMO.
Koch showed class, and real guts, when he came out for Bush.
Bush had 40% of the New York state vote and he only had 35% in 2000. Koch probably contributed to that improvement.
DITTO
Ed Koch was a true patriot. Thank you.....
Absolutely. Heard his radio ad with Rudy Giuliani for Bush -- two great Americans.
Good job in F-Hype 911 too.
I completely agree...
Don't forget about Democrats Zell Miller and Ohio Mayor...
Same to you Zell Miller. And, a nod to you, Joe Lieberman.
We MUST not forget Democrat Mayor George McKelvey:
Wednesday, August 25, 2004 Statement by Youngstown Mayor George M. McKelvey YOUNGSTOWN, OH
Democrat Youngstown Mayor George M. McKelvey, who recently endorsed President Bush, today issued the following statement:
"John Kerry has tried to scare Ohio voters with pessimistic attacks on our economy, but his misleading rhetoric ignores his record of voting 98 times to increase taxes, including the largest tax increase in U.S. history. Kerry also opposes efforts to curb the medical liability lawsuits that are costing patients up to $108 billion each year.
"John Kerry and his running mate are two of only four Senators who voted for the Iraq War and then voted against $87 billion in funding to supply our troops with essential equipment like body armor and ammunition. Kerry previously called that vote 'irresponsible,' but now says he's 'proud' of opposing our troops. Kerry talks about intelligence reform, but the reality is he missed 76 percent of public Senate Intelligence Committee hearings during his time on the panel. Kerry's willingness to say one thing and do another is making it impossible for him to maintain his credibility among Ohioans."

I grew up in North-East Ohio in Akron, very near Youngstown.
The impact of Youngstown's mayor was felt not just in Youngstown, but throughout Ohio, but especially in Summit, Stark, Cuyahoga and other Northeast Ohio counties. (Akron, Canton, Cleveland respectively).
Ohio was the key, and George McKelvey played a KEY role in the 2004 election.
It is so rare to see a democrat do what is in the best interest of the nation and act like a statesman.
We saw these four democrats do that, and the decent people of our nation thank you.
If anybody knows of other democrats who had a national impact in support of Bush-Cheney, please add to this thread and reference this post # so others will see the kudos given to these four honorable Americans.

He's a good man. God bless him. Democrats, I hear, used to be this kind of man. Hopefully, they will be again. I won't hold my breath but would welcome the same kind of man to join me in the fight.
