The MSM has made much over values and morality being a determining factor in this election. They specifically cite the gay marriage bans as well as abortion and stem cell research as reasons the so called Religious Right came out in huge numbers. I think The Passion also played a role in this election, much more than Farenheit 911. The liberal intolerance surrounding The Passion woke up a lot of people to the fascism of the left and forced many Protestants and Catholics to choose sides. Your opinions?
I disagree. Gibson's reluctance to endorse Bush over objections to Iraq was really pissy on his part.
The Passion was a non-factor in the election.

I saw an earlier thread that talked about "The Mother Angelica" vote. That is a big part of what won it.
Americans saw Kerry as the baby butcher he is (embryo cloning for stem cells, abortion).
I don't think Mel affected anything. Other than it is nice to have a moral, family man in Hollywood.
Definitely "The Passion of the Christ" stirred people more than anything else this year.
It swept the nation.

I vote for Michael Moore. His brand of hate-speech may well have driven millions of voters to Bush. People saw right through his brand of propaganda and his cheap trashy little movie will soon end up in the trash bin, whereas Bush won the largest popular vote in history.

The thought that your trashy 'videos' are known as 'documentary films' is so obserd it defies any logic, whatsoever.
I honestly don't think it was either one of them so much as it was Bush's own character and decency which influenced voters.
So, I'm sorry to say, the answer to the question is Michael Moore.
Some people think evangelicals got fired up to vote Bush as a result of The Passion. I doubt it very much. It's been 7 months since the movie was released. Most people weren't even thinkng about the election at that point. Events such as the passion seldom have a political impact that lasts that long.
Unfotunately, most Americans favor butchering babies for stem sells. If anything, this issue helped Kerry. His support for partial birth abortion, however, probably did hurt him, and his pro-abortion stand probably hurt him with Catholics.
The pro-life movement has done a decent job in moving the country to where many (if not most) Americans see it's wrong to kill a baby in the womb for the sake of convenience. We've got a long way to go in convincing Americans that it is unacceptable to kill babies created outside the womb for the sake of science.

Yeah, it is rare to find a person who is against cloning people. To me it is just so wrong. These clones will become our slaves and our inventory for "parts". I have no doubt about it. The left has made stem cell research an emotional issue. (Ends justify the means) Hitler made emotional issues as well - and he tortured and mutilated the mentally and physically handicapped.
Mel's Passion caused many lukewarm Catholics and backslid Protestants to reawaken and recommit to their faith -- this gave many the wisdom and strength to resist Moore's lies and appreciate the quiet courage and rock-solid faith of President Bush.
Most Americans are against cloning. What they want is scientists to do research on "leftover" embryos that were created from in vitro fertilization.
This election should have been named "GOOD VERSUS EVIL."
