It was the right thing to do. Should we now start thanking thugs for not mugging us?

I agree. I heard on the Radio this morning that insiders said that Edwards, wanted to fight this thing out and Kerry told him to get some sleep and forget about it.

He will remain in the Senate to (and probably thru) his next election, in 2 years I believe. Mass isn't smart enough to dump him.

Kerry's decision to concede rather than put America through a repeat of the 2000 election may have been his finest hour.

Senator Kerry had the opportunity to put this country through another Election 2000 hell and chose not to.

Untrue!!!!  Kerry had zero leverage to try pulling lawyer stunts in Ohio due to:

1) The Bush-Cheney win would be confirmed by any uncounted absentee and provisional ballots. It might have taken 10 days for a final tally but Bush would won

2) Americans would take a dim view of GWBush being stymied in Ohio when he won nationwide by more than three million votes and additional Republican Senators and Congressmen were elected

I think it is indicative as to how low the Democrats have gone when we feel the need to THANK them for doing what any five year old child would see is the obvious thing to do.

Dear Senator (part-time) Kerry:

Thanks! For being dumb enough to scratch open the scab of Vietnam and believe you could use Vietnam as a basis for being elected president.

Thanks! Because of your dumb idea a lot of people you trashed 30+ years ago have been able to come forward to clear their good names. If not for your failed run at the presidency many of these people would have died with the stain you put on them still in place. Like so many Vietnam Vets who have already gone to their graves knowing many in America thought them to be war criminals because of you.

Thanks! For being the fool you are. I'll thank you even more when you sign the form 180 and allow this country to see what kind of man you really are.

I hope this grateful little note helps to bring more of the country together.

nick

I am glad he is not President and I wish him well..........in retirement. ;^)

Not that retirement will be much of a shock to him.

He probably spends more on STAMPS in a year than the average person pays for housing. Oh,wait...he has franking priviledges..he gets his stamps free, right?

Did you notice that three Democrat Governors - Iowa, Nevada & New Mexico - held off results 'til Kerry's warriors (yeah, right!) determined how useful a fight in Ohio would be?

Iowa closed down obvious results for Bush as the counters were too tired & Richardson threw out some falsehoods about yet uncounted votes from Demo regions - delaying the inevitable.

Not to mention the timidity of the "Governors" of ABC, cBS, NBC & CNN. Even Fox was unwilling to call the one more state that would have put "W" over the 269 Electoral Votes.

Kerry's ilk knew a fight would not be won & that there was no will, even from their allies in the MSM. He remains a weak, timid, self-serving coward. Virtually Without Virtue.

I am thankful for him marrying Teresa Heinz Kerry and thankful how bad his campaign was run. I am thankful for the Dems picking such a liberal candidate who doesn't have a belief or value in his whole body.

Thank you John Kerry for being the Democrat Presidential nomineee.

If there were even the most remote chance that he could have pulled it off, he'd have done just what Gore did, but in Ohio. It was just mathematically impossible for him to steal this one.

After the overnight "pause to consider," one has to envision
the scene surrounding Kerry:

Edwards, the trial lawyer, pressing for a legal fight; Ted Kennedy swearing in anger about WHO goofed up their great plan; Theresa and her son calling the American people "idiotic scum;" and his two daughters whining about
their not being photographed in ball gowns while seated
regally on a plush sofa.

Add to those excerpts, Kerry himself having images of Carville, Lockhart, Soros, Dan Rather, Peter Jennings and a host of others calling him names because he was a candidate for "President who failed!" Oh, and the smirking faces of
the Clintons whose "support" he now has to question.

But the REAL terror for Kerry was the nightmare of being labeled another Al Gore!

As much as it pains me, I said the same thing. I was actually a bit shocked that he did it.

It wasn't close enough, which is why he didn't do it.

The Republicans followed the prescription, "if it's not close, they can't cheat", and got out the vote.

If Kerry had the opportunity to put us through another election 2000 hell, he would have done it in a heartbeat. The Dems didn't hire 10,000 lawyers for nothing.

I heard one of their campaign reps say that they weren't going to concede because they thought the gap in Ohio would close to about 50,000, at which point they would have unleashed their team of time wasting lawyers.

Don't think for a minute they are doing anyone any favors here. They were left with no alternative and chose the only course of action possible and that, in my view, is not worthy of commendation.
