Why don't these people mention their ongoing commitment to Christ? Have they done any deeper learning or are they "done" and just waiting to die or for the second coming? Are they spreading his message?

People always like to say if Jesus dodn't say it in the New Testament, it is irrelevant.
I start from a different place. If the Old Testament is irrelevant, why is it still in the Bible? Obviously not to make it heavier...

Gennesis 1:27 and Leviticus 18:22
He will tell you...and you won't be disappointed.
God is love and to see Jesus is to see the Father.
And you won't believe how much He loves you!
Jesus validated all of the Old Testament when He said:
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
And in case anyone would be so foolish as to think that what God found objectionable in the Old Covenant, He would now wink at, Jesus Himself said
Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
And so, to Patricia and others I would say, Jesus enunciated an even stricter standard (perfect righteousness); but the only way any of us can measure up to it is by emptying ourselves of self so that He can (and will) fill us up with HIS righteousness.
Like Paul said later:
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Did Jesus say anything about child molesters?

There is no mention of lesbianism, that I am aware of. Men with men are condemned in both the Old and New Testament.
Romans 1:21-26 (Written by the Apostle Paul)

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Jesus didn't say anything about counterfeiting money, too. Does that make counterfeiting okay? Should Jesus have done the devil's work and placed ideas in people's heads by listing every conceivable cruel deed?

Jesus certainly did speak of lesbianism. I believe the entire Bible is his word.
Romans 1:26, authored by God and written by St. Paul, says this, "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones."
I'd suggest you read Romans 1:18 - 1:32 to get the full context.
Jesus was dealing with Jews. As Jews, they knew Torah. You have to take that into account when discussing this. If Jesus did say anything about homosexuality, it wasn't recorded. The fact is, though, that he didn't have to discuss it because the Jews of that time knew Torah, and all of Torah was implied in their daily lives.
Did Jesus ever tell his followers to keep a Kosher diet? Or to study Torah? Or circumcise their boys?
You don't have to discuss that which is part of your daily life.
It's simple really. Look in the OT to see what God the father said about it and then notice that in the NT Jesus said "I and the Father are One."
So "Jesus" said quite a bit about it.
