Election 2004 - Some thoughts

ELECTION 2004 THOUGHTS
The election is over. The only real poll was taken on November 2nd and it was not a sample. The largest numerical turnout in history spoke...Bush by 34 electoral votes (exactly what Texas is worth) and by 3.5 million votes. Although my own predictions were significantly higher for Bush, in my opinion, when it comes to traditional American values and to the foundational principles upon which this nation was founded, although he's not be the epitome of constitutional conservativism, nonetheless, the country is far better off with George W. Bush than John Kerry.

The impact of this vote on our security, on the House of Representatives, on the Senate and on Supreme Court will be significant We must continue to remain active and do all in our power to make sure that impact is a positive, constitutional one.

Here is a map of the final vote by state (using blue for the GOP and red for the DNC...much more fitting in my opinion).

...and here is perhaps an even more telling map, a tally by county across the nation using the same color scheme.

Well, I believe the margin should have been much larger. Even though he lost...he managed to get more votes than Ronald Reagan in his landslide victories. That is troubling...but we can take consoloation in knowing that almost 60 million people voted for traditional values and more conservative principles.

The fight is not over...we won a battle, but the war wages on.

In Kansas, it was the blight of Kansas City, Kansas for them. Flyover Country knows a liberal when we see one! :)

What was interesting in Oklahoma was that we have some 80%+ registered Dem counties and Kerry didn't even get 35% in those counties.

...and we can never give up hope so long as there in even one of us with a love for liberty and faith in God burning in our bosoms and flowing in our veins.

Right shall prevail...but we still have a long, protracted, difficult, uphill struggle for all of the reasons you just mentioned. But the opposition will only prove ultimately to make us strong enough to win out in the end. Of this I am assured, of this I am positive.

We must prepare now, and for the next four years, against the possibility that they will find and put forward a candidate with charisma and leadership capabilites who is equally against our nation and its foundational principles. If we continue to energize the voters, educate and reason with our fellow countrymen and women, and maintain our faith, we can do this...but we must not let up.

Having been raised in North central Texas near the Red River, I am very proud of my Oklahoma friends...we have the same accent and the same outlook.

Now living in Idaho, I am equally proud to live amongst a very conservative and constitutionally minded group of citizens. We went Bush with a 38% margin.

Would you please repost the county map as a reply for me.

Thanks to SBC I can't copy a straight picture and post it. I have to use a back door to get to the source.

Thanks

I would not worry about that their leadership is so messed up, and their choice going to be Hillary Clinton. Even a high school drop out can beet Hillary on the right of the issue. She has so much negatives, it isn't funny.

We should be spending the next four years convincing the young voters, through actions and outreach, that the scare tactics of the left regarding a military draft are nothing more than lies; that the GOP has a plan to privatize social security so that their retirement is secure; and that service to country, be it in the military or otherwise, is honorable and deserving of our respect.

Our biggest problem with this group will be combating the misinformation campaign of the left. Thing is, after 8 years, we should have lots of concrete proof to win them over with.
