A petulant little brat, this U.N.
Imagine- demanding a halt to all miltary action on the Ivory Coast:)
and further- UN peacekeepers and French forces are authorized to use "all necessary means" to carry out their mandate."
Ahem...errr..uhhmmmm...this sounds so familiar to me, somehow. And yet I must be mistaken. After all, did this SAME U.N. allow Saddam Hussein to routinely ignore a gazillion UN resolutions/mandates?
Oh...never mind- this time it's FRANCE who's calling the shots..

Bring Hans Blix out of retirement to be the UN point man for this crisis. I'm sure he'll be able to bring order out this chaos in about, say, a decade or two.

UNITED NATIONS The U-N Security Council is demanding an immediate halt to all military action in the Ivory Coast.
Does this mena the French are losing the fight to the Army of the Ivory Coast??
I guess Kerry DID NOT mention the Quality of the forces he would get from our allies.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It confirms that U-N peacekeepers and French forces are authorized to use "all necessary means" to carry out their mandate.
Why did all the Frenchmen Drop their weapons, is that one of the "all necessary means" to carry out their mandate?

Ah the delicious irony of Chirac being on the hot seat. He just was incredibly rude to Allawi, to say nothing of his disgusting behaviour toward President Bush.

And I demand a halt to all UN action in the Ivory Coast. So, we are at an impasse. I've got as much moral authority as they do - more in fact. Isn't hard. I didn't take a billion in bribes to defend mass murderers.

We should have vetoed it and called for a team of international inspectors before any military action on the part of the French taking place.
