Lawrence O'Donnell calls Red states"welfare" states; urges Blue states to secede

Posted on 11/07/2004 2:17:10 PM PST by bushisdamanin04

Sorry about the vanity, but this is a must read for conservatives.

On the McLaughlin Group this weekend, Lawrence O’Donnell actually stated that the Red states were “welfare” and that the Blue states paid for the Red states. He further urged the Blue states to secede from the Red states. And he was quite serious. In the past few weeks O’Donnell has had foaming-at-the-mouth mental breakdowns, especially on MSNBC, but when he made his comments on the McLaughlin Group, he was quite calm and collected.

First, are these the people to whom Bush is “required” to reach out to?

Second, as McLaughlin would say, “Bye, bye!”

Well, unfortunately, there's no shortage of places to send them. But their arrival could not fail but to make matters worse for any country they inhabit.

Oops, "Freedom" County. Yes, Freemont is the home of the Lenin statue. Talk about your Freudian slips! Did you see what King County (read: liberal Seattle) did recently to rural King County regarding land usage? I just love the ultra liberal city people telling the people who live in parts of the county they have never seen what they can and can’t do with their property. Mike Holmgren (Mercer Island) recently commented about having to remove a tree on his property and the legal requirement that he plant two trees to replace it. I actually like trees, but it makes me want to go out and start chopping!

Larry O is off his rocker! It is the Blue states that are sucking the life out of us in cowboyland! Look what they're doing:

1. Siphoning out our oil and pumping it to the Northeastern blue states

2. Building powerplants in AZ (Red State) to send power to California (Blue State)*.

3. Gobbling up all of the grain we grow in the heartland, then screwing with the markets to shaft the farmers. They used to whack them with the death tax after that, too!

4. Mining out our coal and using it (while complaining about using it at the same time, of course).

5. Hacking down our trees to build their houses (naturally, again, while accusing us of senseless destruction of "their" environment).

6. Eating up all of our livestock, then suing the BLM to screw the ranchers out of the land they've been using for generations.

7. Buying out all of our banks to bolster their own faltering bottom lines.

8. Pumping out all of our natural gas and burning it up. Then they petition to stop construction of pipelines that would let us burn our own fuel!

After all this, these jerks have the balls to make fun of us on top of that! They have the nerve to suggest we are sapping their resources. Shucks, folks, I'm starting to turn red and sputter. Nobody calls the coasts the Heartland, that's for sure.

*Naturally, I have no problem whatsoever with Arizona's power being consumed to support the red counties in California, home to hard-working farmers and, of course, FR.

And taking electricty from Red counties in Washington and sending it to Blue counties in California. Hey, Diane and Babs, make your own!

Dream on.

It's not a dream. In fact, were it to happen, it would be a nightmare. I still think the Rats are desparate enough to try it.

As a Texan I say let them go....who gives a rat's behind. We have everything we need in Texas and we were once a Republic. I think we could do quite well without the likes of those idiots..

McLaughlin is running a half-way house for liberal losers as long as he keeps O'Donnell and Clift on the show - neither one can put together a coherent thought that hasn't been provided in a DNC handout! Eleanor looks and sounds more and more like the WIcked Witch of the West every time I check in on the show!

I usually don't watch the show. I used to be a reular viewer, but Clift turned me off the show. I was channel-surfing this morning and came across the show on PBS (I think it used to be on CNN when I was a regular viewer). When I saw O'Donnell, I had to stay tuned in hopes that he would have another nationally televised breakdown.

Anyone who talks seriously about secession in the year 2004 and thinks the idea has any viability is the epitome of a kook.

On the McLaughlin Group this weekend, Lawrence O’Donnell actually stated that the Red states were “welfare” and that the Blue states paid for the Red states...not true, of course, since the blue states are the heavily urbanized areas full of crime (lots of tax money for police), poverty (lots of tax money for free health care) and illegitimacy (lots of tax money for welfare) - but suppose it were true - I thought lefties like O'Donnell were all in favor of redistributing the wealth - taking from the rich and giving to those who didn't have - he is seriously unhinged.......

Larry, let me help you learn how to spell "unintended consequences" because you are going to be hearing that phrase a lot if you get your way on this.

Mr. O'Donnell has officially lost his mind. It sounds like he and other liberals want to replay the Civil War. What a complete and utter moron this guy is! The Democrats ought to lick their wounds and figure out how to appeal to the all of the "rednecks and welfare cheats" in the red states, and maybe they can win the presidency again. Don't bet on it. The libs still think it was the messenger who failed (Kerry), and not the message (liberalism). These people won't see the White House for a very long time if they keep this up.

I am sure that we could find a place for them to go. Let's see 55 million people minus of course the 10 or so million that voted more than once.

How about "to the Moon Alice" Thanks to Ralph Cramden!
