Great Bush Campaign Trail Music (Vanity)

Posted on 11/07/2004 4:38:22 PM PST by Munch

When Bush was on the campaign trail, he had a couple of great songs that I have since downloaded. I am looking for some other songs that would get my heart thumping.

Can you suggest some songs? (I am rather new to country music.) Please help. Thanks!

This is what I have so far:

"Where the Stars & Stripes and the Eagles Fly" by Aaron Tippin (from Bush Campaign Trail)

"Only in America" by Brooks and Dunn (from Bush Campaign Trail)

"Live What I Believe" by Russ Lee & President Bush

"Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue" by Toby Keith

"American Soldier" by Toby Keith

"God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood

"Dixie," "Battle Hymn of the Republic," and the SSB ought to work well!

Not to mention, "Red Red Wine"

Buy the CD entitled, Let Freedom Ring. It is from the Gaither Gospel Singers. It was produced at the world famous Carnegie Hall in NYC. The music came out shortly fter 9-11. Guaranteed, it'll bring tears to your eyes. I first played it in the car and I had to pull over... couldn't see the road through the tears of proud and joy in believing in our great country.

"Where Were You When the Earth Stood Still on that September Morning" --- while his image is in my brain, I can't get the name of the artist out but I know someone else will.

I had to google it.

Alan Jackson sings "Where were you when the earth...."

Thanks, I'll put that on my list. I have heard that one -- it's a good one.

The Gatlin Bros. were regulars on the campaign trail. You also might want to add some music from artists who appeared at the RNC.
First a shameless plug for the fabulous "Third Day", who did the RNC & also appeared at Bush's Hershey PA rally (31,276 people) then appeared hours later at the Giant Center arena in concert, and shared their excitement of the experience. At the rally they played "I Believe" & "I Got a Feeling" from their new "Wire" disc.
Others from the RNC were Michael W. Smith singing "There She Stands", Jaci Velasquez, Dexter Freebish, , Lee Ann Womack, Donnie McClurkin, and Nicole C. Mullen

"There She Stands"
by Michael W. Smith
from his 2002 album, Worship Again

When the night
Seems to say
All hope is lost
Gone away
But I know
I'm not alone
By the light
She stands
There she waves
Faithful friend
Shimmering stars
Westward wind
Show the way
Carry me
To the place
She stands
Just when you think it might be over
Just when you think the fight is gone
Someone will risk his life to raise her
There she stands
There she flies
Clear blue sky
Reminds us with red
Of those that died
Washed in white
By the brave
In their strenth
She stands
When evil calls itself a martyr
When all your hopes come crashing down
Someone will pull her from the rubble
There she stands
We've seen her flying torn and tattered
We've seen her stand the test of time
And through it all the fools have fallen
There she stands
By the dawns
Earlt light
And through the fight
She stands
