ST. PAUL - John Kerry's bid for president has ended, closing a pivotal chapter in 27-year-old Kristin Prestegaard's life: the time when she became involved in politics. "That was the first time I wasn't afraid to tell people who I was voting for," she said.

She thinks back to when she didn't even know which candidate to support.
A vet with three Purple Hearts? How could you lose?
Her logic is seared... seared in my mind!
I must make it a priority to find my own mentor before the next election. I need to find my own Sylvia Kaplan... someone who could nuture me and feed my mind with activist zeal!
Bob Dole (WWII war hero) vs Bill Clinton
Well, Sylvia darling, this wasn't an election for the presidency of the local American Legion Post we had last tuesday.
You need never, ever be "afraid to tell people who [you're] voting for," muffin.
Embarrassed in this case, yeah, sure... :)
She sounds seven.
You go darling! That is just fine.
After all, I still have my Swift Boat Vets' "Expose Kerry's Fraud" stickers on my trucks.......... and my W-'04 stickers. Let it all hang out!
MAN there've been a lot of these "Dempression" articles!
And Bush 41 was a WWII hero also, lost to Clinton
After all, I still have my Swift Boat Vets' "Expose Kerry's Fraud" stickers on my trucks........
My husband added "Mission Accomplished" to his Swift Boat Vets stickers!
Or, as Rush said the day after one of the debates, "This isn't an election for captain of the debate team - it's for the leader of the free world."
My grandchildren made a huge sign for their front yard that sets in one of the few blue counties in Tennessee. The sign said "God Bless America, WE WON. What a great lesson for teaching the children not to be afraid to let people know what you stand for.
"I still have my John Kerry button on my purse," she said. "When do you take it off? I'm definitely not ready to take it off."
I am deeply saddened...
However, there is a bright side -surely the buttons are recyclable and or biodegradeable -Kerry supporters can still contribute in some small way with recycling protests...
To win next time, the Democrats need to nominate a Republican as their candidate.
I can't find it in my heart to feel any pity for anyone dumb enough to support Kerry.
It's not surprising why the democrats lose elections. They have very immature "adults" working within their campaign, and in fact many of the highest level democrats are immature "adults". Case in point - Bill Clinton. This Prestegaard woman is truly a pathetic creature - a product of the self-esteem based American school system. I would be very interested to know what field she is in as a "young professional". My guess would be something like "massage therapy" or perhaps "underwater midwifery". Of course, she may be a "grad student", of the type who has 5-6 years in and still hasn't passed her prelims. I'll hazard a guess that many, if not most, of the 20-something people who support kerry are of this ilk.
I would guess she's in either sociology or Womens' Studies. I knew a lot of people like this in college -- only they were Star Trek junkies. One of them committed suicide when the series was cancelled.
This little girl (who probably lives with her parents) can't tell the differene between reality and fantasy. Perhaps she can find new hope in supporting Harry Potter.
You seriously knew someone who killed themself because Star Trek ended? Oh my.
Hey! Great idea!!
She is a walking example as to why the voting age should be RAISED to at least 30.

it's easy...just put your little, ole mark inside the circle marked 'Democrat'
