(GREENSBORO) - Greensboro's Muslim community wants an apology from a police officer who they say broke the shoulder of a 68-year-old Egyptian-American woman.
Afaf Saudi, who's accused of resisting police officers and assaulting an employee of a Wal-Mart store on Saturday, also suffered a broken rib, a mild heart attack and cuts and bruises on her wrists. She remains in Moses Cone Hospital awaiting shoulder surgery.
Wajeh Muhammad, treasurer of the Islamic Center of the Triad, wants the city to pay for the woman's medical bills and for the officer responsible to issue an apology in a language she can understand. Saudi, a naturalized citizen who has lived in America for 12 years, doesn't speak English.
A police department spokesman says initial reports show the officer did nothing improper.
Meanwhile, Saudi's son says his mother is afraid to eat hospital food because she's worried she'll be poisoned.
Been here 12 years and has made no attempt to learn English?
Too late...you had 12 years to learn English...go home...and try kicking a store clerk in the chest in Egypt and see what they do to your frail 68 year old arse!
And both Officers are still on regular duty.
As a Muslim woman, she should have understood the language of a good ass kicking.

Anyway, in the grand Muslim tradition, somebody should be stoned. Saudi can be stoned. Or her son can be stoned. Or maybe they can stone each other.
And if stoning doesn't work, hack off a hand or put out an eye, as they do in the Arab countries. Praise Allah!
I would offer her some delicous pork sandwiches.... During the surgery, they should sew her up with a couple hotdogs inside her. Mmmmm..... hotdogs..... drool....

I've read a number of different reports that we're deporting people, who commit crimes here. Hopefully this woman will be one of them.

It's my guess that the woman was probably laying on the floor and the manager was likely trying to get her up and she kicked him. She sounds crazy.
That's what I thought when I read it. Gypsy's come through our area once or twice a year and there's always a rash of this kind of thing. The older ladies always have a problem with the language too.
Luckily Wal-Mart is full of security cameras, hopefully this can be settled quickly. I do hope they release the tape of the kick to the chest though. That should take care of public opinion.

My son and I put about a dozen small, Stars and Stripes flags in the parking medians and curb area running past this mosque a couple of days after 9/11.
They were all removed by lunchtime the next day.
