Using a technique I learned from John Edwards I channeled Prescott Bush and he/me said that this is "a bunch of poop" and not to channel him again because he was partying with Marilyn Monroe in the Heaven.

Oh, Prescott also said that the word going around Heaven that Arafat died and went straight to hell.

By this rationale, the Jews are just as responsible for the rise of Hitler since many wealthy Jews invested heavily in Germany, as well.

...and I have German blood in my veins. Doesn't make me a Nazi. Going back in history to disparage the current generation is moronic. What's the President going to do find a time machine & fix the mistakes?

Many of us have ancestral skeletons in our closet. The author may want to check his/her own family background before throwing stones.

So... let me get this straight...

GWB is controlled by powerful figures in the neo-Nazi party

- and -

GWB is controlled by powerful figures in the Jewish community (neo-Cons).

I can't keep my conspiracy theories straight now.

Well...

The author makes it clear in the first para that he has no respect for facts.

Then, one could consider this: The MSM hated Dubya so much that they trumped up forged documents and withheld info about Kerry meeting with terrorists, but we're supposed to believe this Nazi story is olid and they've never reported on it. Yeah, sure.

"This is in keeping with the actual history of the Republican Party. It was founded in the 1850's explicitly as the party of high taxes to subsidize politically connected businesses..."

The Republican party was created after a war in the Whig party over slavery. The Whigs supported it, the first pub presidential candidate, Lincoln, ended it.

It's crap like this that is pushing me from a Libertarian resister to a Libertarian despiser.

I have to echo Cripplecreek's comment "Why bother?" This is just one more little bit of the crying and teeth gnashing we'll be hearing for the next for years.

Ask this person in casual conversation, when not talking about Bush, if they like Mercedes Benz autos or if they ever drove or liked a Volkswagen beetle bug or if they ever took a Bayer aspirin. If they answer "yes" to any of them then remind them of the bush story and call them a hypocrite.

We all own mutual funds which buy up hundreds of stocks for the protfolio, some of these companies are involved with China, South Africa, Nigeria, and other "hot spot" countries, it doesn't mean we or the fund company agree with the governments, it's just part of being a global society where our money is spread out and invested everywhere. I bet your friend owns mutual funds too.

Tell these flaming liberals to stop crying and get over the election, we won both the popular and electoral election fair and square, the people of America have spoken and that's it.

...part of Dub-a-Ya's money comes from grandfather Prescott Bush's financial alliance with the Nazis.

Technically, if the second part of this staement were true, it wouldn't be George Walker Bush who would have benefited monetarily. It would have been George Herbert Walker Bush, his father.

But then I suppose that this idiot believes that Prescott set up a fund to bequeath, upon his death, to GWB. Of course, that account would have been called, "All my Nazi Money".

The story line on Prescott Bush is that like a lot of Americans (see the Dem favorite Averill Harriman) they invested in German operations before the Nazi threat was known and kind of got stuck there as the political climate changed. I don't see how his grandfather's investment is worse than Joseph Kennedy's actively flacking for the Nazis once the threat was known and he was serving as our Ambassador to England, do you?

It's just a nasty bit of business to spin.

The best response to something like this is to turn quietly and walk away. Any attention you give to these loonies only creates the illusion that they have some sort of credence or solid information or credibility. They don't. Ignore it.

The Onion's a good read. Surf on, I always say.

A lot of the nonsense from the above excerpt is repeated by John Loftus. The more I find out about him, the more of a kook he appears to be. Why does a smart guy like John Batchelor have Loftus on his show so often?

I agree with you about the Libertarians. I went to a meeting several years ago; all they could talk about was how intrusive it was of the government that they could not smoke as much marijuana as they wanted. They're "libertines" not "libertarians." I agree with their free market stance on economics only because it's not original with the LP; they got it from great classical liberals like Ludwig von Mises.

I wouldn't worry about it. Kerry's "Forbes" ancestors were dope traders and smugglers, which allowed them to amass their great fortunes. Don't sweat it. The past is the past.

Of course, that account would have been called, "All my Nazi Money".

I'm sure that account was with the First Aryan Bank & Trust. (rolls eyes)

1. Fritz Thyssen was arrested an put in a concentration camp by the Nazis. He had a falling out with Hitler over... Anti-Semitism! (Thyssen was a German nationalist, not an anti-Semite.)
2. At the time Prescott Bush became a director of UBC it was not illegal to do business with the Third Reich or business based there.
3. At the time UBC was seized, Prescott Bush was not found guilty of any wrong doing. On the contrary, when UBC was seized he was paid $1.5 million (in 1942 dollars!) for his single share.

On irrelevant side, a lot of other folks made money doing business with the Reich: IBM, IT&T, Ford, GM, Standard Oil, etc. Again, what they did was not illegal. Ford and GM had plants in Germany and were compensated for bomb damage after the war...
On the illegal side, Standard Oil continued deliver oil to Spain (where it was shipped through France to Germany, well after the US went to war with Germany.
Isn't funny, though, how nobody goes after folks like Armand Hammer (a sponsor of Gore's daddy) who did business with the Commies, though?
