BTW, everyday there is some sourpuss who can't stand that anyone cares about a criminal case ... they gripe and gripe and gripe. You were the one today.

Yeah, that may be. It's not that I don't care, I just fail to see how it gets elevated over every other tragedy of equal or more heinous nature. IMHO, the Andrea Yates case needed substantially more coverage than it got. I was struck by the senseless nature of the Peterson case when it first broke, but it has become like OJ, which I believe was RUINED by media coverage and the Judge, Prosecutors, and Defense Attornies trying the case in the media. And this looks like the same deal and the bastard might actually get away with it.

This was the retired union worker? Was she the one who literally went out and started rocking the boat?

Don't know. But if so, shows what happens when you do.

Have you seen what Gerragos did today?? Displaying the boat? What happened today was obscene. I think Gerragos should suffer sanctions of some kind. To what extent, I'd like to know what the law stipulates for such acts. After today's shenanigans, and I like everyone else, can't tell the way the jury pool leans; but I'd think it fair (but sad) to call a mistrial. The last two alternates should have in no way been jurors in the first place, (based on what we learned in the press today). They had personal contact and knowledge of the case. One worked for Scott and Laci, (If I have my facts correct), and the last new juror, saw the TV movie about this case. Her husband thinks Scott is guilty, but she says, she formed no opinion. Okay fine. But please, take no chances with this oone as a juror. This must be clean.. something very very dirty is going on with this jury, and I tread on the term 'tampering'. You?

A typical trial in California.

What a terrible horrible sad joke and obscene aggravation it is for all involved.

Well, I'd need some convincing to believe this was typical in CA. I live here and have never seen anything like this before. But, this is very high profile, so perhaps such things are routine somewhere else.. Don't know.

I pray for justice for Laci and Connor. Her family deserves that, and should justice include convicting Gerragos for criminal judicial malfeasance, that would be a plus.

A system gimmicked with arcanity and that handcuffs a sane and sober adult from making her own investigation WHILE on the jury can expect a bumper crop of sheep-like sleepwalkers of jurors and wolf-like charlatans of defense lawyers.

Such is California, and so this trial. Gergaros be Praised! He is what he has to be in such a Judicial Proceeding of Perverted Procedure.

*Sidenote: A system that does encourage such INTELLIGENT and RESPONSIBLE independent behaviour -- self-research and application of individual expertise -- on the part of a Jury and EXPECTS it of Judges is of great merit.

Tux;

Just in case you were wondering, I think I was agreeing with you on this thread. Perhaps the discussion should have been more "grownup" regarding Fox News and their obsession with this trial.

What was the news here? Juror #7 removed, or Fox News covering it?
